Satan is a murderer for other reasons,
But to encourage us to sin is something else. We all have the ability to listen to that or not, and regardless of what we choose to do, WE will be held responsible for the results of our actions. "The devil made me do it" excuse holds no water, as that would say that you are not an agent unto yourself.

Satan is the great deceiver. He lies, spreads false rumors, tackles God, Churches, people of faith. He is capable of anything. People blame God and Bush for the war, but it is in fact, the work of satan himself. And he is a murderer, but not by encouraging us in sin. We are creature of choice by creation, and we have the choice of giving in or telling him to depart in Jesus name. God bless

(1) Our Lord identified Satan as the source of His temptations. We know that no temptation comes from God (James 1:13). We also know that Satan is a liar, a murderer, a deceiver, and a thief. Thus, whatever comes from Satan is going to be sinful in nature. Satan never prompts men to act righteously. He may prompt men to appear righteous, but He never promotes righteousness. Thus, we must always view the “offer” in terms of the offerer. Only good and perfect things come from God, the “Father of lights” (James 1:17). Only evil things come from Satan, the prince of darkness (Eph. 6:12; Col. 1:13).
As a further study, I recommend that you read through the book of Proverbs, where the wicked are portrayed as those who encourage their fellow-man to do evil (cf. for example, 1:10ff.). Satan, his demons, and those in this world under his control all are the sources of untold temptations.70 The wicked cannot be the source of good, and thus we must always consider the source of the offer.
(2) Temptation is proposing any act which is inconsistent with the plans and purposes of God for that person. It is not just the wicked who can tempt us, as our Lord’s words to Peter make very clear:
“Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s” (Matt. 16:23).
Peter rebuked our Lord for speaking of His suffering and death in Jerusalem. In seeking to turn our Lord from His destiny, Peter was but a mouthpiece for Satan, and thus was addressed as such. Temptation is that which prompts us to do that which is against God’s word and His will. Temptation is thus a solicitation to sin in general, but it is also an enticement to sin in particular, that is it seeks to divert us from what God has for us to be and to do. All three of Satan’s temptations were diversions from Messiah’s calling and ministry. Our Lord recognized them as such, and thus refused them.

Satan can be whatever you want him to be... he is a mythical character... not real, a self induced mass delusion.
I say Satan is an excuse not to take responsibility for your own actions.

Jesus himself referred to Satan as, "the father of lies and a murderer from the beginning."
Satan's temptation caused Adam to "fall into death" out of envy.
Every time a human being dies, Satan wins.
It makes you think about the evils of abortion, mercy killing, and war, doesn't it?

Yes, in a way. But it's not all his fault...come on "If a thief is caught breaking in and is struck so that he dies, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed; but if it happens after sunrise, he is guilty of bloodshed. A thief must certainly make restitution, but if he has nothing, he must be sold to pay for his theft." Exodus 22:2-3 (read the Holy Bible you'll laugh out loud)/ God is no saint, he is telling us that if we kill a thief before sunrise it's OK if it's after sunrise it's not (wtf?!) and that we can sell the thief if he has no money to pay us back...so basically God is an adept of slavery but he urges us to "Love thy neighbor...", he commands "Thou shalt not kill..." but he says that we can kill thieves before sunrise...God sure is indecisive for an omniscient being. And old Satan, let's think about the injustices that he suffered, he is just doing his job! Why does God give him souls to torture?!?! If the souls are on his side ( the bad one) why does he torture them, it makes no sense! Satan is just doing the Lord's work...a very rotten work. Just snap out of it, your Lord killed the entire earth population once, and two entire cities, and...well read The Holy Bible, you'll find out. Don't believe in fairy tales...you'll be happier.

no he is not because he encourages us and we can choose to sin by our own freewill it is his job to encourage us to sin but it is us who choose to accept his invitation or we refuse to sin so his not a murderer because he encourages us to sin
