What does the war in Iraq have to do with the attacks? Yeah that's right nothing. If we were going to go to war with a country for retribution for 9/11 then Saudi Arabia would have been the logical choice. Oh yeah, they are our allies.

No, I don't have short term memory, I admit that what happened on 9/11 was a tragedy, and many many people lost their lives, but that is no reason to be fighting a so called war on terrorism that was and still is based on a lie.

Our troops were sent into Iraq under the assumption that Iraq had WMD. At first, I supported the effort, but now I don't. WMD's were never and still has not been found.

And all the while, close to under 3,000 members of our troops have been KILLED. The number will continue to climb as long as we are fighting this war. I hope the President realize that he was wrong. His children are not the ones fighting and getting killed---no they are safely here in America while everyday, someone else becomes a widow, widower, or bereaved parent or family member of a slain soldier.

Why not attack New Zealand? There are brown people there who had just as much to do with 9/11 than anyone in Iraq when we invaded.

I was on a 6 month deployment on a US Navy submarine during 9/11. Where was your chickenhawk ***? So no, I haven't forgotten. I just don't see how 9/11 is the be all, end all excuse for everything with you people. You have a hard on for Iraq? Go to your local recruiter and get in there, champ. If not, shut yer yapper. People who send other people to die so that they can feel tough are called cowards where I'm from.

First, all evidence points to the fact that the Iraqi government had nothing to do with 9/11.

But that aside, let's assume for sake of argument that going in and deposing Saddam was both completely justified and absolutely necessary.

Saddam is gone. The regime is toppled. Less than a year after the invasion, Bush himself announced "Mission Accomplished". Whether it was correct or not to depose Saddam, we did it. It's over.

The issue now is why are we still there. It's obviously not to depose Saddam. It's not to find Bin Laden. We're there to play nursemaid and babysitter to a country that is not ready for democracy, and to help a government that hates us to fight a civil war.

We've lost thousands of American lives, not to defend the US or to depose a dictator, but as part of an experiment in empire building. That's not the role of the military. They report to the Department of Defense. Not the Department of Government Formation and Civil Reconstruction.

I honestly don't understand how people can fail to make the distinction between the reason we went there in the first place and our continued presence years after Saddam is out of power.

Get your facts right before you go criticising other people’s beliefs… The Invasion of Iraq had stuff all to do with the September 11 Terrorist Attacks!!!

There is no question that the events of September 11, 2001 which saw thousands of innocent people being slaughtered by terrorists, will find their way in the history books among the most catastrophic events of the century. None of us who witnessed it will ever forget!!!

I have no problem with accepting that all countries have the right to defend themselves against attack. Such 'defence' however, should be proportionate to the threat!

'Defence proportionate to the treat' was not the story in relation to the Invasion of Afghanistan. Whilst I appreciate that the families and friends of the thousands of innocent civilians killed on September 11 were entitled to 'justice', I don't believe that the targeting and killing of innocent men, women, children and babies, can ever be justified! An eye for an eye?... A life for a life?... Where will it end??? Surely, the families and friends of the thousands of innocent Afghani civilians who have been slaughtered since the invasion of their country, are also entitled to justice! If they seek their justice through the slaughter of innocent civilians, will it ever end?

And then there was Iraq!!!... At least 40,000 innocent Iraqi men, women, children and babies have been slaughtered as the result of the US Invasion of their country. They were not terrorists… they weren’t responsible for the September 11 Terrorist Attacks… they weren’t supporters of Osama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein. They were innocent civilians who were desperately trying to live their lives as best they could, in conditions most of us would consider to be ‘atrocious’.

Men, women, children and babies, were slaughtered in the name of George W. Bush’s War on Terror. How dare you criticise people who have been protesting against the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions. If they were listened to, at least 2,500 of your brave Military Personnel would still be alive!!!

Get you head from out of your a--e!!!

i dont have a short term memory and i resent the fact that ud even think that.

yes i remember what happened, how can anyone forget it.

the war in iraq is nothing more than a bloodbath gone wrong.

u want to b killed fine go over there urself. it is just a suicide mission. and i feel that any and all wars r just that.

im not gonna stop u from going over i just wont and nor will i pay attention to it either. i think its stupid, they take out our ppl and then its fair to just go over there and redo there country and thoughts???

somehow i think thats whats stupid. i think there has now been about 25 or 30 canadian deaths over there and i personally feel there shouldnt have even been 1, much less that many.

and my heart does go out to those on the flight that tried to stop it.

Oddly enough, neither short nor long term memory can provide any connection whatsoever between Iraq and what happened at the WTC.

People that think war isnt the answer ..

if youre in america, please move to Britain.

Because since war isnt the answer, we're all english and like to sip on tea. Morons.

War in Iraq is justified or no?

Thats inbetween, yes saddam wasn't the best guy on the whole butchering his own people and such, but that was more of a U.N issue.

Was Saddam a great guy? yall people act like you would have invited him over to drink coffee and play ratchetball with the kids.

He was a violent brute, who tried to assassinate his own country leader when he was in his teens. Great guy to have for the leader right?

Maybe some of the information was wrong when we went over there, and people have died..

CLUE - PEOPLE DIE EVERYDAY of stupid things. Shut up with your. OMG! 3000 people died so far!! OMGWTFROFL.

I've known several guys that went to Iraq, and lived. only to come back and DIE IN A CAR ACCIDENT. so shut your mouths on things you don't even know about.

There are two wars.
One in Afghanistan and one in Iraq, no connection.
Both have not achieved their aims and have left the countries in a worse condition than before.
The net result is an increase in the threat of terrorism worldwide, thousands of dead civilians and soldiers and an increase in heroin production.

Do you really think killing hundreds of thousands of civilians will bring back the ones that died in 9/11?

Do you really think that raping 14yo's will make the ones that died in 9/11 any happier?

Do you really think these wars were for the ones that died in 9/11 and not oil

Do you really think Bin Laden is in Iraq?

Do you really think war is the answer?

Do you really think Iraqi’s don't know the war was for oil?

Do you really think America is safer?

Do you really think Iraqi’s aren't gonna retaliate in the decades to come?

If you do there is no use talking to you my friend?!!
