If you have a memory card reader already in your computer (most more recent ones come with them) then take the card out of the camera and put it in the select slot. A folder of the files on the memory card should pop up. Open your my documents and copy and paste the files. If you want to take the pictures off the camera delete them after copying and pasting. You could use cut and paste BUT sometimes, especially with a large number of files, problems can happen possibly resulting in the loss of all pictures. I once cut and pasted and thankfully all the files made it to my computer, but the memory card said it was locked and I couldn't do anything with it until I reformatted it.
If your computer doesn't have a memory card reader you may need to buy an external one, but if your camera can be attached directly to the computer through a USB cable you can just transfer them that way.

Download them to your Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based PC, and you can view, touch up, print, and share your pictures with friends and family. It’s easy to download pictures with Media Center. Just connect your camera or memory card to your computer, and Media Center will guide you through the steps to download your pictures.
Once your pictures are on your computer, you can view them on a larger screen and decide which ones are worth keeping. You can also erase the pictures from your camera, freeing up memory so you can take more pictures.
To copy your pictures from your digital camera to your Media Center PC, follow these steps:
1. Press the Green Start Button on the remote to open the Media Center Start menu. If Media Center is in windowed mode, press the Green Start Button a second time to change to full-screen mode.
2. Connect your digital camera to your computer.
* Use a USB cable. Most digital cameras come with a cable that connects the camera to a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port on your computer.
Use a memory card and memory card reader. A memory card reader is a piece of hardware that is built into your computer or that plugs right into your computer. You remove the memory card from your camera and insert it into your memory card reader similar to the way you might transfer a file between two computers using a floppy disk.
Media Center will detect that you connected your camera or inserted your memory card. When prompted, select View Pictures.
Media Center displays your pictures. Select Import.
By default, Media Center downloads your pictures to a location where only you can access them. To download your pictures to a location where everyone can open them, select Yes.
