I chatted someone up once when I was drunk. Later I was told that I had been trying to woo a lampost. I found this a little shameful at first but eventually came to my senses. Now me and lampy live happily together. I want for nothing - she provides the food, love and even light. The only drawback is the leccy bill.

Unless they're used in an 'ironic' way then yeah, they're cheesy and usually pretty insulting and demeaning towards the woman.h

I don't use one. If you don't use any, how can you hate them? That is truly an ignorant assumption.
