I'm celebrating my 16th wedding anniversary today; I'm not a studly, macho type and have never been approached by another woman - while single or married.

Have you ever been approached, or made advances to someone specifically due to seeing a wedding band on their finger?

Why?

It's not just the wedding ring on the finger that make women come but it's the way she catches you looking at her when you think she doesn't see you. Then the ring is very attractive because she first of all knows you committed once to a marriage and will commit again and because she saw you checking her out she figures you are unhappy. Since you said no woman has come on to you in your 16 years of marriage I would assume you never been looking at another woman with interest. Or maybe she just didn't see you. So to let you know you probably seem UN interested in other women so therefore she's not going to waste her time.

Wedding bands are bait. For some reason there are women out there who see that ring & either take it as a challenge or they just don't care what the ring stands for - they go after that man anyhow. It's how I ended up with a step-mother, so I should know. It's really up to the man, in the end, though - they can respect their marriage vows & say no thanks. But there will always be women who chase married men. They (the women) are morons & I hate poachers like that.
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary - I wish you many many more!!!

Wedding rings are bait. We've been married for 9 years and for the first 4 I didn't wear a ring. (I had a very, very physically demanding job, where men had lost fingers by wearing rings). I never once got picked up on. For the last 5 I have and women will come up to me even if I'm with my wife (whos absolutley gorgeous).
