if you have a cable box , and you split the signal before the box input, you will recieve whatever analog unscrambled channels your company is providing. If you want to watch hbo(for example) in the bedroom you will need to split the output of the cable box ( so the box will decode hbo or whatever channel you want). Unfortunately, with the 2nd scenario, both tv's can only watch the same channel ( both are recieving the output of the cable box). good luck

you usually can if you do not have a set top box. the set top box for the higher end cable packages is required to decode certain channels. if you use the splitter you can still get the cable on the other tv but you will only get what's available through the wire. you won't be able to view those extra channels that the set top box decodes.

Should be no problem. Why not call the cable company? Ours does it for free. You need a splitter and cables to get from the splitter to the tv's.
