INCREDIBLY STUPID:
Beyoncé Knowles claims she lost 20 pounds by consuming a concoction made up of maple syrup, lemon juice, water and cayenne pepper. Of course it's not just any maple syrup but an organic "Madal Bal Natural Tree" syrup (UK distributor / USA distributor). Consequently sales of the product are soaring (src).
The maple syrup is part of a "detox" or fast.
According to Beyonce:
"I lived on water, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for 14 days. It was tough; everyone was eating and I was dying."
These kind of diets are foolhardy indeed, and it is not the first time that maple syrup has been mentioned by someone of celebrity status.
Without laboring the point - living on a maple syrup concoction for days on end will probably leave you: weak, with less muscle, a lot less glycogen (in the form of fluid loss), and probably very grumpy. Give this a wide berth.
What did Beyonce do after enduring her maple syrup ordeal?
"After that I ate waffles, fried chicken, cheeseburgers, french fries, everything I could find.
"That was the best time of my life. I've gained twelve pounds."

it's expensive, the syrup is like £40 a bottle, and that is all you eat. Apparently it doesnt taste great. And you'd have to have really strong will power to keep it up for three weeks, and of course a spare few hundred quid to spend on it. Just go to a gym and get a personal trainer, it will be a lot cheaper and you won't put the weight back on when u stop.

Its very silly and she has withdrawn from using the diet, the maple syrup, for a start will rot your teeth, I can't believe that with all the education, cookery programmes and all the diet magazines etc, that anyone would want to follow these stupid fad diets. The only way to lose weight, eat less, eat sensibly and exercise regularly, its that simple, by using these stupid diets you are risking long term health problems

I dont think you should do this diet, you are not getting enough nutrients into your body, you could end up ill.
Eat a healthy balanced diet everyday, and enough exercise, and you should lose weight.
I myself am tryin to lose weight, I do it by exercising 30-60mins a day, and eat sensibly. that means no snacks! or if you want a snack, snack on fruit. or celery or carrot sticks

You are stupid this is not a diet there is no benefits from it and it is very unhealthy and could damage your body.
It is practically the same as starving yourself.
You will probably **** water for the next 2 weeks afterwards too.
