There are some lovely pubs and restaurants in Cardiff Bay, it depends what you want really. The Pearl of the Orient is really nice but a little pricey, or try The Bay. Salt is a lively pub at the weekend, Terra Nova is a bit quieter. In town, try St.Marys St or the Brewery Quarter. The Lava Lounge in the Brewery Quarter is fun if you like 70s/80s music.

There is something for everyone in Cardiff, depends on your taste of music & age.
Walkabout is great for 70s & 80s music.
Flares play 60s.
Metros plays alternative & some rock/goth.
Bogiez is a rock club (it's brill).
I would advise you to stay away from Life - too much trouble goes on there.
You have loads to choose from.
