Like the old Mark Twain quote, "It's not the parts of the Bible I don't undertand that worry me. It's the parts I do undertand."

Absolutely......I believe that the Bible was written by humans who are not perfect beings...There are discrepancies, but I still think for my personal spiritual growth, the Bible is a wonderful tool.

One discrepancy that I found recently is that Mark gives a different account of the thieves that were crucified with Christ than Luke and Mathew. Mark says they both reviled him. Luke and Mathew say that one reviled him and the other blessed him.....

And who cares? The similarities in the stories outweigh the differences....

it is possible that people like to make the bible fit in what they really need and not what the bible is telling them to do then they start arguing and loose sight of what it really says.

Inspiration can be gained from any volume. Why are those that read the Bible blind to any other inspiration in any other literature? The message is also contained in prophets from many sources.
