I have a two year old femail cat and my boyfriend and I are moving in together. He has two boyfriend has two 1 year old males. They are finally starting to get along, but she is so depressed. She will not sleep with me, she feels threatened from the boys. Is there anything I can do to make her happy again or will time help her adjust.

Introduce them slowly and in time she'll get over it and be happy again.

You can't force cats to get along with each other. Give them some time to adjust. Make sure you show them all equal love and attention.

If you don't think she is eating enough, then you can put her in a room by herself for a few hours a day along with a cat box, food and water. This will give her the opportunity to have some quiet time. You didn't say but I presume all the cats have been altered. If not, you should get this done asap.

You can use some specific Bach flower essences on her to help her in this adjustment.

At www.littlebigcat.com Dr. Jean Hovfe lists certain mixtures of the essences appropriate for various behavior and adjustment issues with cats. That's in her September '06 newsletter.

On the Yahoo group Senior Cats the group leader just posted endorsement by vets on the use of the essences. It must be three pages long.

If you order from Dr. Hovfe's site her mixtures are $16.95 -- that's it. No shipping, handling charges or taxes. She is in Colorado so how soon you would get your "remedy" would depend on where you are located in the US. Your remedy will come with complete instructions on how to use it, how often to apply to the cat (you can put them on her fur) and for how long.

The remedies are so easy to use and so effective. At that price you can't do anything better or less inexpensive. I urge you to try them and can assure you that you will be pleased.

Make sure she has her own space. A room that has a cat bed just for her. They should share the feeding area, but it's okay if she has a totally seperate sleeping area from where the boy kitties sleep. Make sure you set aside time each day to play with her and love on her. You have to reassure her that she still has your love and she's not being replaced. Good luck!

yeah... we had the same problem.

we initially have two cats (mother and son) and then a friend gave us a siamese kitten, the two of them would always hiss at the kitten and try to claw her... their hairs would really stand up just like when they're in an attack position...

it was really frustrating to see the two cats always clawing at the kitten. everytime they try to hurt the kitten, i take the kitten away from them and scold them and say "no"...

it was a maybe a couple of weeks when they stopped hissing and clawing at the kitten. they'd stopped hissing and clawing and just look at the kitten whenever it's near them... (like observing every move)

after a month, they start to lick each other and then just like that, they're bestfriends.

now, the male cat and my siamese are bestfriends, they go where each other goes and they even lick and clean each other and sleep together.

i think, you just have to give them enough time to get used to each other. and try to treat each of them equally so that none of them gets jealous.

Maybe u should try to spend time with her. She will get to kno them better. Since cats are really stubborn, its really hard to get them to get along with another cat. Just try to get them to play together as much as u can. Cats really dont like sharing their owners so they start to not sleep with their owners or stop participating in games that u play with them. Its hard for a cat to move in with another cat, so dont push so hard. Shes probably still getting used to it.

Sometime putting them in a small room together for 24 hrs. with the catbox of course would help.
