Yes and no. Like most children they are begining to spread thier wings of independence. We try to let them when we can, but also try to insist on the respect that we deserve, and earn as their parents.
In general they are very good kids, and will behave, listen and obey but they occassionally will do their own things.

I have 4 children who are young adults who are very well behaved even though they ended up ina divorced family at a young age. However I am involved with a man with 3 kids and they are terrible I have been with him for 6 yrs and they are now 14, 16, and 19 they refuse to follow any rules and if things don't go their way they cause a fight and leave. I'm stumped. Letters are sent home from school every week for the same kind of behavior. We live in a small town and my husbands family are quite wealthy but we are not. But their grandfather gives them what they want. Whenever we try to set down guidelines or rules or give them chores they flat refuse and have even made the statement I'm going to tell grandpa. So go figure!

Every child i know here in America obeys their parents.

America does have "fantasy" shows like, Sally Jesse and she has actors come on and play "bad" "disobedient" children... and then there is Jerry Springer, for "entertainment" purposes only.

In America all children are angels, and the people here they are truly saints and American can do no wrong!!
