Cingular has a 30 day trial period if your still within that time frame go back to Cingular and cancel your contract

my first plan when i came to the bay area was cingular (this was before they joined aquired AT&T wireless and i lived smack dab in the "best" reception area) and the service (both customer and phone) were horendous. of course it was cheap and i didn't need it too often so i kept it until the contract ran out, but i switched as soon as the contract was over (i couldn't take it that EVERY CALL GOT DROPPED... never have i seen as much false advertisement as those cingular commercials).
when i left, the rep on the phone was reasuring me that the dropped calls would stop (yeah right), i changed to sprint and never looked back. cingular has become the AOL of mobile phones... it's good at getting beginners who don't know better and tries to trap them into staying with their crappy service. from what i've heard, the people who started out in AT&T wireless (which i almost went to before cingular FUBARed that up) is that they don't want to adjust their service plans because it would change to cingular instead of AT&T (their AT&T phones/service seems to be better than anything cingular has/maintains for some strange reason)
listen, go back to sprint, verizon, or heck, get one of those other cheap phone services... but stay away from cingular. they seem to have the WORST service.

i've heard many similar complaints about cingular. most people i know who had them at one time eventually left for a different carrier. i had at&t which is now part of cingular and the service totally sucked the whole time i had it. lots of dropped calls, terrible phones, and absolutely awful customer service. when my contract was up i switched to verizon and i've been happy ever since. although the razr vc3 is a very overrated phone. when you're out of your home calling area it sucks up a ton of battery looking for a signal.

All these providers are the same crap. Yes, Cingular's "fewest dropped calls" ads are a joke!
It all depends which carrier has better coverage in the area you are in.

Here's the rub with wireless carriers - they're not perfect. All networks have "dead spots" and areas where the coverage is poor. All of them. It's the nature of the beast with wireless - it's not perfect. Yet, every one will boast the "strongest network."
The key when selecting a wireless carrier is to find one that has strong coverage where you spend the brunt of your time. Ask you potential carrier to demo a phone for a few days before you sign a contract.
Also, most carriers have a small window in which you can get out of your contract without penalty if the service is REALLY not working for you - generally it's 7 days.

oh, it was horrible!
I switched from Verizon & about 3 months later after dropped calls galore, no service in areas where I should have service etc etc etc, I said screw it , paid the $150 to cancel my contract & went back to Verizon.
Cingular is awful.

read the fine print it says in most areas not all and they take it from survey answers got to love the fine print in life..just sayes to us all buyer beware..and read the small print..almost need a lawer for anythin you sign up for now....such is life..imagine that we complain about losing signal here and elsewhere ppl r dying just to get out of the way of fihting..put it in perspective ppl its just a phone call...learn to live a litle and if that your only proplem u r very lucky ij this world as of now...
