I'm a teenager with a cell phone and I don't have it to be cool. I don't drive and I run after school clubs, so if something happens, and the meeting is cancelled, it helps to be able to get a ride. It was useful when our school caught on fire as well.

It's most likely a Fashionista kind of Trend, until Cellphones don't exist, people are still going to buy them, Fortunatley, I worked to get my own cell phone, I bought my first when I was 18.

I'm 16 and I could care less if I have a cell phone or not. I think it's pretty stupid when girls HAVE to be on their cell 24/7.

It's not just teenagers,how about all the pre-teens that have them aswell,they just go with all the designer gear and the rest of the technology.
I think it's called capitolism.

Because we parents wash our consciences about the perils out there but we got more control on their contacts.
We follow the trend because it's easier than talking about important issues>

Do what I do be in charge and teach your mum and dad you may cope with it. We toddlers desire cellular telephones each and each of the time so our mum and dad can call us every time needed or if we desire that a family members member come to p.c.. us or to enable our mum and dad understand if we can be getting domicile late for some reason.

They think they are "it" if they have a cellphone but I don't understand the need to be on it in school cuz ain't all their friends in school too. Why?

well i just got a cell phone for my 16th birthday, and i wanted one before that but the reason that we insist is because it gives us a sence of freedom. And because all the "cool kids" have them
