My toaster only has two settings..the one where the bread stays pale but warms up slightly and the one that immediately carbonizes it to near diamond and sets off the smoke alarm.
I think toasters are made by the same companies that make novelty joke items.

2 reasons, one being that there are indecent people in the world (you know this as well as i do just look around they are not hard to find) and two being that some of them that i spoke of above probably design and build these toasters or the advancement of technology for some odd reason has just not made to the toaster market as of yet, eather way i as much as you am completely fed up with this crap, and i for one believe it must stop,....Hell lets go picket the sunbeam factory...........Sorry if i just lost it a little there....no ..no.. its OK, i,m feeling a lot better now, its just that my wife Burnt my toast this morning and i think that the burnt toast is in some way messing with my psychy.

Many years ago when I worked in a restaurant, we had a customer that always wanted his toast burnt. So I'd stick it in the toaster and when it popped, put it back in a little longer. Stunk up the whole area though.

I am very sorry that you have to put up with all these stupid answers
there are 2 reasons, some toasters, can be used as a grill/hob.
some people freeze bread, then when you put frozen bread in to toast. burnt becomes perfect..

Some people actually like toast like that and some don't, that's why there's a handle feature on it which you can set forth and back the way you want your toast.

But I use that setting for stuff like bagels.
