Muslims, how do you know Allah spoke to Muhammad?

No one else was there. Couldn't he just have made it up?

What exactly is it that has led you to believe him. All of Islam is founded on this basic assumption.

Satan also spoke to him at least once. And he is supposedly thought it was Allah speaking. Those verses were called Satanic verses and later on deleted by Him.

we believe him because of his great miracle "Qura`an" that Allah revealed it to him by his messenger " Jebraeel ". All of the Islam as you said is founded in Qura`an . So , there is a challenge in it by Allah that no one in this life , humans or devils even if they set together , can say or bring a verse like Qura`an or even change one letter in it . Because of that we believe him and because of the happiness and peace we find in reading Qura`an "the word of Allah" . In addition , Qura`an tells us all about other prophets and their books that have been changed by people like Jessus and the Bible . All the scientific facts knowen these days are written in the Qura`an before more than 1430 years ,Can you tell me Who told Mohammed about them ? Many great scientists nowadays become muslims when they know this fact . Nearly most of the people who become muslims are those who read Qura`an . It is true that Islam nowadays is very weak and most of the muslims all over the world are not following what Qura`an says but don`t forget that Mohammad peace be upon him and his true followers ruled the world because they were true believers and Allah promisses in Qura`an that He Almighty will give victory to true believers. Also, don`t ignore the wild war againest Islam from all other religions . At last , I want you not to believe any one but your self your feelings and your mind . You can read the translation of Qura`an in your own language and read about Islam using the right sourses . Iam very sure that you`ll feel ,see and find the answer of your question if you are a right person.

Thank you for a fair question regarding religious faith. A Muslim recently asked Christians here to provide evidence that Jesus' miracles were real. He added that we were not to use the Bible since it has no credibility. I asked him to provide evidence that Allah truly spoke to Muhammad and not use the Quran. I never got a response. Perhaps he will answer you. : )

God sent his revelations to prophet Muhammed through Angel Gabriel. Please at least have some basic knowledge before asking questions that require further explanation.

I want to thank u 3 times for asking a question abt my religion.
1) i get to test my knowledge and gain futher while researching.
2) i get others to see The Truth and view things from a different (Islamic) Perspective, as well as share my thoughts with others.
3) i get to shamelessly promote my religion Islam to all of u, and show u The Truth of Islam, and invite u to Islam, as Islam is the Religion of Peace, Harmony, Love & Humanity, as well as Tolerance for All Beliefs.
The other thing i want to say before i give my brief knowledge on this matter is that, i do NOT intend to write this to be chosen for best answer ('coz i know, asker has its own opinion and will agree with someone with whom his thoughts are more compatible), i m answering this to spread out the Word of Truth and for those who really seek The Truth.
The answer is very simple:- Take Holy Quran (GOD's Word) and compare It with any book of Hadith (Prophetic Sayings), and u'll get ur answer, that u'll thoroughly see that They are Two Separate Pieces of Writing and have different ways for telling the same thing, and CANT be from the same person. The eloquence of Quran is so high and has so many different levels of meanings (all well) in just a single verse, and also the scientific facts that we are establishing today, have been foretold to us in The Holy Quran 1400 yrs ago when NO genius could have known all of it, which is sufficient proof in itself. For the fact, Prophet Mohammad (May Blessings and Peace of ALLAH Be Upon Him) though was most brightest of all humans (check out book 100 Most Influential People by Michael H. Hart or go to this link http://www.adherents.com/adh_influ.html) but still an illiterate person (could Not Read Nor Write and before He entered Prophethood had just very basic knowledge of Science), which further stresses my point, that there is NO way, He could have had so much knowledge by Himself that are mentioned in the Holy Quran. There aren't just scientific facts in it, there also Historical events in It that took place previously, and some historical events that took place afterwards were foretold in the Quran (like the defeat of romans at the hands of persians and later the victory of romans on persians). "The Holy Quran is The Book of Signs NOT Science" (Quote by Dr. Zakir Naik), and so many Signs that Science is still unable to comrehend it and still discovering things that have been foretold 14 centuries ago. There are many Signs that Science totally verify it, just as it is in the Quran (check out the link yourself where known scientist accept the authenticity of Quran as Only the Word of GOD http://islamyesterday.com/science/) and still haven't found answers for Some of the other Signs yet (its like 80% Signs in Quran are verified by Science and are established facts, while 20% Signs Science hasn't been able to discover yet, But Science doesn't deny those Signs Nor Science acknowledges those Signs, 'coz in all honesty Science hasn't matured to look into those Signs and have a complete & final conclusion abt those Signs ............ so in the end it still is a matter of faith, and as i Believe & conclude that if 80% Signs are 100% Correct and verified by Science, then in the coming yrs GOD Willingly, the rest 20% Signs will be verified to be 100% correct by Science .......... its Very Logical as well as Rational).
These are some points out of the top of my head and i m NOT even a Scholar (just a Believer), if u want further proof, i will recommend u to buy a DVD lecture "Is Quran The Word of GOD?" by Dr. Zakir Naik, which gives full account on this matter with details. i know its not convenient to look for a specific dvd to find some answers, but for those who are really interested in seeking The Truth and want a complete look-into on this matter should look for this DVD, 'coz it will answer all ur concerns abt the matter if u listen to it with an open mind.
