He is suffering. Kittens can crash quickly. If you don't have the appointment for today, call and ask for an emergency appointment.

It could be simply worms, or it could be something worse like coccidia or giardia. In any case it won't get better without medical treatment. Go. Right away.

And if your other cat is licking the kitten, bring him too. Just in case the illness is coomunicative and the vet needs to treat him too. In fact assume the problem is catching, and separate the two now.

It may be an infection or parasite. Has the kitten gotten all of his vaccinations? Also, many house plants are poisonous to cats. Perhaps the kitten has been chewing on house plants or other things that could hurt his tummy.

Please take him to the vet right away. Bring a stool sample if possible so the vet can test it, and make sure the kittty gets all his shots.

Its a good thing you're going to the vet. It sounds like he has coccidia which is a parasite that lives in the animal's intestines. I used to volunteer at the humane society and some of the kittens had it. One of the symptoms is bloody diarrhea. Let the vet know that you have another cat in the house so he can get treated too, since it is very contagious. Hopefully its not something more serious. Good luck.

I'm not sure, but it's possible that his food is upsetting his stomach or something more severe. Heavy bleeding is a very bad sign. Making a vet appointment was the best thing you could have done. I hope the problem isn't serious! Send my love to your kitten. :)

Oh how terribly sad for the poor kitten and distressing for you. Bleeding from the anus is always a serious SYMPTOM and the problem must be diagnosed and treated by a vet.

Hopefully everything will be resolved happily today. Good luck to you and the little guy.

maybe the cat that is licking is also doing some sticking, but he just hasnt found the right hole yet. but what have you been feeding him, my dad has a little dachsund and if he eats too much greasy or spicy food like bacon or pepperoni he bleeds alot from his rearend and it swells up alot. but we give him fiber in his food now about twice a week and he never has that problem anymore.the brand name is EZ Fiber. we just stir it in with canned dog food and he doesnt even know its there. it says its taste free and grit free, it looks alot like like powder or flour. its sold by walmart but i think its a generic equivalent to benefiber. the vet my dad goes to said its a problem with his glands in his rearend. so it might be the same with youre cat. but that is not a life threatening problem, if he was bleeding from his stomach or kidneys that would be very serious, but just a gland problem is no big deal. if his rearend is swelled up thats probably what it is. and if hes been doing this for more than a day or so and not dead yet it probably isnt life threatening internal bleeding.

My cat is 15 years old and the same thing is happening to her so we put her outside but we don't know if she's stopped bleeding in her butt. She acts normal except her just being old. My mom knows what the problem is but I can't remember what it's called.

I don't really know, but maybe he ate something harmful. You did the right thing. I hope the vet can see him today. If not, you should seriously consider taking him to a veterinary emergency clinic or hospital. (you can probably find one by Googling the words "emergency" "Veterinary" and the name of the nearest small city or large town. I hope it will all be OK for your kitty.

Probably your kitten ate something like a bone or thing like that. It's strange that a cat such young developed illness like an old cat, so I think is something he ate. And you have to take him immediately to the vet. Good luck!

If I were you, I'd take the kitten into the vet's office now and just sit and wait for an opening. If you explained the situation to the technician, they would let you bring him in on emergency.
