Sex LIFE no,
Sex DRIVE Yes.

The ovaries produce the chemicals which cause a peson to FEEL sexy, and to WANT sex. Without these, the body is much drier 'there' and the woman will feel less like having sex.

In addition, it's a mental thing for women to feel more 'female' when they have those tahn when they don't. Let's not forget the additional effects of "Forced Menopause" which is caused by the removal of the ovaries. A woman gets to feel pretty old and dried out, can be a terrible partner. You have to mentally WANT to keep the sex life alive and do what needs to be done. Contact Dr.s, try herbs and ointments, and keep a generally healthy attitude. (counseling helps here too)

uterus - no. ovaries - yes. ovaries are what give us our hormones. without them, it's menopause and decreased sex drive. i had a hystercetomy (removed uterus, not ovaries) and for whatever reason, my sex drive went WAY UP. i mean so up that it seemed painful lol! i asked my ob/gyn if this was normal and she said no. oh well, i am enjoying it :)

I thought removing the ovaries would erase the sex drive, the same as removing the testicles. But maybe it wouldn't decrease it unless it was done when very young.I wanted it done when I was younger-I was 24/7 horny, but that goes away as you age, fortunately.

It sure does! The hysterectomy, which I believe the procedure is called, happened to a friend of mine. She was 38 when it happened, and seemed to trigger early menopause. Hot flashes, diminished desire and irritability were the end results afterwards. She just was not herself anymore, in a sexual and sensual manner. Just acted like the aging process was more an issue than anything else.

It does not have to. I had to have mine removed at 26 years old. It did not affect my sex life. It was nice not to have to worry about birth control.

Things affect us all differently, but medically I don't think there is anything to worry about.

Without ovaries, her hormone levels will drop. This may affect her libido and possible her ability to self-lubricate. There are hormone replacement medications available. She should talk with her OB/GYN about this.

some times they become more aggressive and want it more, now that the risk of getting pg has been removed. Some just get fat, like a b*t*h dog and no longer are interested in anything, let alone sex.
