Well, it depends why your family does not let you cut your hair:

Try this:

1. Make a consultation at a salon.

Do you feel bad that you made a consultation? Cancal it.

You don't ? Go to the consultation.

2. Do you feel like you are doing something Bad at the consaltation? Cancal your hair appointment.

Don't feel bad? Go to your hair appointment.

3. You are about to get your hair cut.

Do you feel horrible yet happy at the same time? Tell them you forgot and you have to be somewhere: home. Do not go through with it.

Don't feel bad at all? Go through with it. Obviously you really want this hair cut bad enough.

Long hair is beautiful!

But DON'T give it to Locks Of Love. They're business practices are very questionable. Just go on they're website and do the math about how many donations they use to make a wig, how many donations they get a week, and how many wigs they have made. Also note that the wigs are NOT given to cancer patients (their condition is considered temporary), and they are not given free except in a few cases.

Learn some cute updos so that you can enjoy your long hair and don't go against your family. Family is more important than hair.

It depends on the reason why your family don't want your hair cut if it is a religious reason or a cultural one then it may be that you will lose more than just your hair, you could lose respect and even affection by going against your parents wishes.

If it's just that your family wants you to have long hair then you have to consider their feelings & reasons why. They may be able to see things & issues coming from it that you cant such as whether it will suit you or not.

At the end of the day it is your head, your hair & your life

I'm sorry. I had the same problem growing up. My dad and mom wouldn't let me cut my hair. Now my husband wants me to leave it long. Sometimes I get so sick of it, but I get a lot of nice comments about my hair. How often does a stranger tell someone with short hair that she has beautiful hair?

While walking someplace outdoors with your parents, get a friend to run up behind you with big sheer siccors and lop off a large portion of your hair. Have her yell something like, '..I'm sorry, it's a gang initiation!' ...or 'That's for what you did to Bernadette you *****!'. When your parents start asking questions deny knowing anything at all. Now they'll have to let you go get a proper haircut to even out the ends.

Well, honestly, depending on your age, I would probably just comply with my family's traditions. Long hair is beautiful.

When you are of age, do what you want. But right now don't worry about it.

I know that this may not be the answer you are looking for but when in doubt, I tend to err on the side of not angering ones family.

It's just hair.

There's not much your family can do if you just go get it cut. They are your family, and they're allowed to have an opinion, but it's your hair you should be able to do with it as you please. Besides they can't do anything once it's cut. They will get over it if thet're mad at first. Good luck with whatever you decide.

If you are an adult, do what you please. If you are a teenager, proceed at your own risk. Will they punish you severely if you cut it? Or just yell? Maybe you can trim off a few inches and test the water. If it is an attractive trim your parents might begin to see your point. If you are a child, you really will have to wait a few years.

I agree with whoever said locks of love, go with that...your getting what you want and doing a great thing for cancer patients...

Or cut it anyway, and who cares what they say unless it will be some huge deal to them....its just hair it's really not worth getting into trouble over...wait till your on your own and cut that S$it off...

Just wondering, there is no chance you are like East Indian/Pakistani is there? Cuz I know the feeling here...try speaking with them, and maybe just do it a few inches at a time so it's no terribly noticable all at once....but, if it's going to upset your whole family...it might not be worth it all at once....;) Good Luck.
