I have a male cat who is getting kinda old and he throws up everytimehe gets done eating. He has been doing this since he was small, we dont know why and i've asked the Vet and they said to change his food but that didnt help cause we have tried every kind of cat food out there. He also has feline aids, and i am starting to wonder if hes getting sicker or something. i just really wish he would stop puking all over our house lol....Thanks

I'm thinking you need a vet. With his advancing age and AIDS status, you need to see if he hasn't developed something else.
Get a hairball remedy. Maybe that's it.

My guess is that he is sick, but try also giving him some hairball remover, just a small dab not too much cuz it can cause stomach upset if he has too much. But particularly if it is a long hair cat, he may lick his hair into his stomach and be unable to pass it so he may throw up. Also, does he have enough fresh water if u give him dry food? I recommend Science Diet unless the vet has him on a prescription diet. U can get one of the Science Diet dry or wet in an older cat formula or in a hairball control formula. How old is your cat? Unfortunately they don't live forever and with aids (did u mean lukemia? thats more common than aids in cats) there could be sickness bouts. Good luck with your kitty.

It could be a number of different reasons. You can try asking a different vet if you aren't happy with the answer you got from yours. You can also try not feeding him anything for 12hrs. Then giving him small amounts of water. After a little while you can introduce small amounts of a bland diet. A bland diet is something like boiled rice and boiled chicken. If this works and your cat doesn't throw up maybe he is having a problem digesting some ingredients in his regular food. There are commercial "bland diets" out there that you can purchase. Try asking a different vet about this problem though, you may get a better answer than what you got before.

My cat died of leukemia, he was only 4, he seemed really healthy then all of a sudden he started to puke up like a green bile substance, he ate nothing for days while he was at the vets and there was nothing they could do, he died in his sleep. Ask your vet about worms, they can eat away at the intestines and cause severe problems, even death, I give my cat IAMS biscuits to get rid of hairballs, but if he has leukemia, just take each day as it comes and love him. I wish i had that opportunity.

Maybe he is eating too fast, my female cat does this also, she eats too fast. I have had her since she was a kitten, someone dropped her off outside where I live and I took her in, she is healthy, it is just I think someone deprived her of food, but now she is eating as much as she wants. Just because your cat has feline aids does not make him sick, I think you know that, but I would give him vitamins, I have another cat that has feline leukemia and I give her vitamins and I have had her since 1999 with the vets saying she wasn't going to live passed 2 years. She is healthy and happy. Good luck to you with your cat.

some cats eat way too fast for their stomachs to keep up with it. The thing you might want to try is feed it very small portions at a time during the day. So say, one tablesponn per time. Make sure he eats just as much as he used to do when he got it all at once, but keep some time in between feedings so his stomach can handle it.

Hairball could be the problem and be sure your cat is not eating other things. Ask your vet about this, sometimes small details are ignored.
And sorry for what is happening to you pet.

I'd take him back to the vet first.

Have you tried feeding him soft food? There are some good senior foods out there that are gentle on their stomach. Science Diet also makes a sensitive stomach formula that I used to buy for one of my cats and it seemed to help.

Have you watched him eat? Does he seem to inhale his food? If so, try leaving a bit of food out during the day for him to nibble on.

Good luck.

Put the cats food on a plate and place golf balls on the food so he has to move them to eat. He wont be able to eat so fast and upset his stomach. It worked great for me. Good luck
