My natural hair colour is black but I've had it burgundy for a while now. i want to change the colour now, but am wondering if I should go for a light brown shade or go back to black. I have fair skin, and brown eyes, and im 24.

I have a very round face so my impression is that if I go light brown, my face might appear rounder, whereas if I dye my hair black it might look less round. Is this really going to happen?

Go for the brown. A lighter color with the brown eyes usually makes your face look brighter and younger looking. I say this because I have changed my hair color so many times and so I know this from experience.

Well you've had it black and Burgundy so why not try something new? I have fair skin and brown eyes and I'm 20. I'm a very light blonde but I have some darker shades of blonde slipped in between them to break it up, so it doesn't look too fake. I find that the blonde makes my face look less fair and sets my eyes off a lot more.

Why not try a black cherry shade that's half way between the burgundy and black?

It's free to join and you can try on colors virtually before making a commiment. If you don't have a scanner, digital camera, or another way to get your photo uploaded, they have models to choose from. Just find the one that has the right basic face shape, skin tone, and eye color. If you can't find all three in one model, get face shade and skin tone. Ignore the existing hair color on the model, you're going to change it anyway.
Have fun!

You could always do both! I suggest medium brown with blonde or a lighter shade of brown highlights! I think it would go well with brown eyes...hope this helps! : )

Try the light brown shade just to try something new. Do whatever feels right.

Hey! I am a hair stylist and let me tell you, if you are doing it at home, go darker! If you are going to a salon they may not ever lighten your hair! If you are doing it yourself, use a 6n 5n 4n and so on, 'n' meaning natural which will not leave any ash tons, red tons, and such...! Good luck!

Try putting some cool high and low lights in it to change it up.
