I have a freind that has ADHA (and has told me so), 36yo male by the way.
He's had numerous (ALL of his girlfreinds left him) relationship problems.

Even as far as our freindship goes, I'm ready to give up and leave myself. He DOES NOT take medication and dosen't think he should. He's also extremly forgetful about important things and then when I bring it to his attention, he'll turn it around and make it like it was MY fault he forgot and pretends he's innocent.

*sigh*

He really needs help and I'm trying to be patient, but it's hard.

So anyone know what the long term affects of not taking meds will do to someone with his condition?

The drug companies don't make as much money.

It soulds like he has "entitlement syndrome" or in other words, he is extremely narcissistic. For him, the world orbits him, and it's all about what he wants, what makes him comfortable, what benefits him, and his way is the right way.....
You can't change him or fix him, and you'll let him suck the life out of you while you wait.
Best bet is to create some distance. Empathy comes naturally for some, but it can be learned for others. When he continues to be "right" about everything, he will find himself standing alone. That may be the only way for him to learn....
Blaming his problems on a ficticious condition (created by drug companies to make a profit) is a way to avoid dealing with it.
It is his problam, not yours. Neediness sucks the life out of people....you feel it. Back off and give him his space. He has a problem and you are in the way of him dealing with it. As long as he can convince you he's "right", he justifys his position.

The problem will probably not improve, and may get worse with time. The following references have a good discussion of Attention Deficit Disorders:
Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine - Murray & Pizzorno
Prescription for Natural Cures - Balch & Stengler
Alternative Cures - Bill Gottlieb
Magnet Therapy (pg 167-169) - Lawrence & Rosch

Nah - that's all crap. There are no "long term affects" for NOT taking your medication. It's not like you get worse or anything. So, he's little hyper, bounces from subject to subject, forgets stuff...big deal. I bet he is pretty fun to be around and has a ton of friends too, yes? Doesn't the good outweigh the bad? It does in my book.

I know your not going to like this answer, but you need to dump him. He is using the ADHD thing as an excuse, and the fact that he turns things around and makes it your fault is very immature and selfish. He last relationships didn't work out and if he cared enough about you he would do something about it. PLEASE don't put up with any more crap!

More erratic behavior.

Look for similar therapies or doctors to these:
