Unfortunately, all best-before dates I see in stores have alphabetic two-letter months and go in the form MM-DD-YY. I always confuse MA and can't remember if March is MA or MR or if May is MA or MY

I have never seen this to represent a certain month, usually the "MA" could possibly be part of their shipping code number. They are suppose to put the date as "5-12-06" in only numbers.

Usually MA stands for May, while march is abbreviated as MAR.

Does it matter? It's August. The food in question is either way off, or you have at least 6 more months to use it before you should start sniffing it.

Officially though, MA is usually March.

If it's April or beyond,my guess would be(since it's a toss up,throw it away), And if it says March or May(undecided)...best before is February or April,so throw it away. The only (keep) months would be January and February, forget any other months altogether for that year!!!

May, March would be Mar

It's March. If it was May the whole word would be written out.

Don't know, but since this is August '06, and if the year on the product is '06 I would throw it out.
