Why do they choose their legalism over the clear teaching of the gospels and of Paul. No where is it stated that belief in that doctrine is a "requirement" for salvation. One can receive Jesus as Lord and Savior without ever having even heard of the Virgin Birth. Growing in the word comes later. Does a child require a PHD to be born?

The Bible is crystal-clear that Jesus was born of a virgin mother.

The Old Testament predicted it, the New Testament clearly described it -- it's inseparable from Christian belief.

When you are baptized the virtue of faith, hope and charity are infused into your soul along with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, so it's there. You do not have to have know everything but you cannot reject teachings when they are known.

And I do resent being called a pharisee, I'm catholic and that's it.

Sad though that you use the gifts and freedoms that christianity has given you to mock that same religion without wich there would have been no progress at all.
Sometimes you behave like spoiled brats who could use a good spanking to come to your senses.
Besides these things are supernatural and cannot be understood by reason alone, you need the grace of God to even begin to understand.
That grace may come to you one day though the the prayers and sacrifices of Holy Church.

First, there's a prophecy in Isaiah that speaks of a virgin beginning (in spite of the reality that Jews at present do not agree that it truly is the that technique of the prophecy.) 2d, it truly is Jewish custom that sin is handed down via the daddy. In Genesis, God says that a lady will deliver about a baby (note that there is not any connection with a guy) who will deal a lack of existence blow to the serpent's head. to verify that there to be a sinless Messiah, it truly is logical to 1st century Jews that he won't be able to have a father. third, Mary claimed to be a virgin. Fourth, Mary's cousin's husband, between the clergymen interior the Temple, received a imaginative and prescient that his spouse might want to have a baby that could want to usher in the introduction of the Messiah. fifth, an angel looked as if it would Joseph, even as he became pondering putting Mary away or divorcing her because of her being pregnant. That angel instructed Joseph the starting place of the newborn, his purpose, and instructed him to not divorce Mary. ===== EDIT: you're addressed comments to me about the that technique of the be conscious for "virgin" in Hebrew, yet rockorock has already addressed this element highly properly. you could disagree with the translation, even if it truly is particularly stupid to declare that it really is previous reproach; obviously there's a significant confrontation about this element. For the record, as has already been said, this prophecy became quoted to Joseph with regards to the being pregnant, so it truly is hardly ever something that became cooked up in later years. Regardless, all of Christianity hangs on the virgin beginning and the resurrection. If all and sundry might want to conclusively educate that one or the different did not take position, they could damage all of Christianity. If Jesus became purely a guy with a mundane father, then he's not who he claimed to be. If he did not get up from the lifeless, then he's back an effortless guy, and isn't the savior he claimed he became. a lot of people have tried to push aside the virgin beginning or the resurrection, understanding this. for sure, no one has succeeded in showing that neither occurred, even in spite of the reality that they all started attempting on the prompt.

God might choose to save you, whether you believe that or not.

That's up to him.

But if you want to be reasonably certain of good, solid, spiritual guidance for your life, you need to accept all the teachings of the church, not just the ones you agree with, or the ones you can understand.

It's not a matter of intelligence.

God already knows you're not very intelligent.

That's why he founded a church for you to be a part of ... so you could learn from others ... and come to truly know and love God, in the process.

Then you won't get so upset when people tell you it's stupid to deny doctrinal truths like the virgin birth.

I would guess it is perhaps a distortion of the logic that if Christ wasn't born of a virgin birth then he couldn't be Divine, because he'd have two human parents. But technically it doesn't meant hat for sure, so as long as you still believed Christ was God, which is an important aspect of salvation you wouldn't need to believe in the virgin birth.

But my question is once you believe Christ is God then why not believe the rest of the bible?

First of all : '"Why do Christian Pharisees insist" . it's Christian Priests, not Pharisees, and second: when they say that u have to believe in the "virgin birth", they mean by that that u have to believe in Jesus Christ and to aknoledge him, because you can't believe in Jesus Christ without believing that it was a "virgin birth". Hehe, take the whole pakage or don't take it at all :)

True to an extent. First and foremost, a new Christian needs to accept Christ as their savior and repent of their sins. Then, yes they learn about Christ's birth and the significance of the cross. I will say though, that the significance of the cross that Christ died and rose again to defeat death and make it possible for us to come to him and share eternal life is the basis for being saved in Christianity. So, yes, they will learn if they are truly save.

maybe it is because the one of the most well known pharisees was Joseph of Arametha, Jesus' uncle who later adopted Jesus after his step-father Joseph died. he got the body of Jesus from pilot and placed it in the grave.

I have never heard anyone say that this is required and I have grown up around many legalistic Christians. I'm sorry if you have because that is just not true.

People should read the whole Bible. No kids will get education later. Its unusual for conversion to happen without reading it but it can happen. I knew an illeterate woman it happened to.
