Is there any one out there that can tell me if Paxil makes you gain weight?

People can give you there personal experiance with paxil. However, with all medications the side effects affect people differently.

example- 1 person may gain 10 pounds while another may lose 15.. The best bet is to ask your doctor, if you experiance any weight gain or loss.

I never experienced weight gain from Paxil, instead I lost ten pounds pretty quickly because I felt better and became more active, less sluggish and I felt so much better all around. A number of people have reported gaining weight while on Paxil, but I also noticed those people are in the 'weight gain age zone' of over 35 or 40, when women tend to put on weight regardless, even if they had always been thin previously, so it could just be that normal age-related weight gain.

The doctor I worked for said that over time most antidepressants cause weight gain, even if you lose at first. Definitely Paxil does for some people.

Nursing Drug Handbook lists increased appetite as a side effect of paxil. This could cause one to gain weight.
The South Beach Diet is good for weight loss and for health in general.

My doctor tried to give it to me, but I refused because I have read many articles that said weight gain is a side effect for it, I got Zoloft instead

Well they say it is NOT supposed to but I just quit taking it , because I had gained weight on it ,,,,,, I suggest you do not do this on your own as I did m bad w/d and it's jus not the right way to do it , you have to be weened off these drugs ,,If you are not presently taking it ask Dr for other choices :)
