Replace the sugar with splenda... That way it won't be bad for you. Tea is good for you it has lots of antioxidants in it. It's the sugar that is bad.

In its dry state, tea has more caffiene than coffee, but when brewed, coffee certainly has more. This has been known for at least a decade or so, that I know of. To confirm, I have pasted a chart. Google search of "caffeinated beverage chart" and the first hit http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/caffeine/caffeine_info1.shtml
Tea is definitely good for you. I wish I could drink it.
I prefer sugar. I see nothing wrong with sugar, which is natural, as opposed to some man-made chemical that can give you Hodgkins. Unless, of course, you doctor says stay away from sugar . . .

Don't listen to those people who say getting on tea is a mistake. Tea is high in antioxidants that your body needs, and some types of tea (black pekoe and green tea) can actually help you lose weight. If you drink tea with sugar, however, that doesn't really help. Try cutting back on the sugar or replace it with Splenda. It's an "artificial" sweetener that is actually derived from sugar and it doesn't taste as bad as saccharin or Equal.

You may be addicted to caffeine. Even though tea has only about half the caffeine of coffee, it still has enough to be addictive. You are also correct that sugar is the heroin of the healthy. It is ubiquitous. What worked for me was changing to herbal teas, and 'Equal' there are many artificial sweeteners out there and Equal is the one I like. My girlfriend likes Splenda. You can do it. it just takes time and a bit of extra effort.

If you're concerned about sugar, why don't you try a sugar substitute. I use Splenda, bc it tastes like sugar, and doesn't leave a nasty aftertaste like equal or sweet n low. Splenda also dissolves completely in cold tea. Hope this helps.

Substitute splenda for the sugar. That's what I do. I don't think coffee and tea are bad for you. Unless your thinking it stains your teeth. I love my coffee and tea. I drink tea by the gallon! :)
