As long as it is a conditioner or a detangler - can't hurt. If your hair is brittle or breaks easily or is just a bit damaged, they are great. But no matter what, no conditioner that I have heard of can damage your hair by leaving it in too long.

(Except I heard from a beautitian that Pantene has the same PH as Windex). She had no reason to lie, I have no proof. But I might be a bit leary about that one, myself.

I haven't tried that one. The thing about any conditioner is that is only has a limited active period. After that it just doesn't do anything. The best, and cheapest, way to put moisture back into your hair is to repeat your conditioner. Leave it on for the recommended time, rinse, and repeat as many times as you like, or until the hot water runs out. Then you don't have to have it sitting in your hair, weighing it down all day. Try it, it works.

Leave in conditioner isn't really a chemical, it is more of a treatment. Tony and Guy (TIGI) is a good brand and the conditioner work well as long as you got one that goes with your specific hair type.

Leave in Conditioners add strength to your hair and protects it from free radicals in the air. I would suggest using a conditioner free of alchohol and use one that is more of a moisturizer for your hair.

I'm sure if you left motor oil on your head, yes it would damage it. Leave in conditioner works best if you use very very little.

as long as its light weight and doesnt cause build up it should be fine. You'll know after the first or second time if its too thick or greasey, or if you're using too much.
