Leading to the person becoming overweight or obese?

Don't even start with the "it's not my fault I'm fat routine", just save it.-- God knows the truth.

Definitely, the bible warns about people who's 'God is there belly'
Everything in moderation, i'm learning self restraint as i always had a big appetite but was never over 36inch waist.

Had a hospital stay reached around 46inch two years ago now i'm 37 inch and lost 3 stone in around 3 months, medication took almost two years to come out of my system making it hard. At least i know it was a symptom of meds, praise the Lord for my weight loss. Thank Jesus, i can breathe, walk around and be and feel human again, so much less pain. need to loose another stone to get down to 11 and a half.

If we did everything for the glory of God, we'd be far better off.
And yes, be truthful here as well.. that some people tend to become fat by their genes. They have to work at remaining in shape a bit more harder then most. Don't judge how or why people become fat.. medication can add weight to you, like it or not. Surgery can help add on the pounds.. medical health can add on weight.. it's not just over eating. You are right, God knows the truth.. YOU do not. Don't be so quick to judge people. least you find yourself judged.

I believe we all should be taking care of our bodies, that's a tough question because there are tons of answers.

Not everyone is overweight from over eating. Some people over eat as kids and that is a bad habit that now as an adult has to be broken.

Others have problems with them that they can't lose weight because of illness's

Others just choose to eat and not exercise.

God knows the different problems people face and he is there to help us all.

I'm not a Christian, and have no beliefs in a God as such, but I'm in total agreement.

have always thought that an actively unhealthy lifestyle, be it through obesity, drugs, alcohol abuse, smoking, etc, is bad karma, and disrespectful to the God/universe/miracle of life. Whichever is your choice of higher power.

As a Christian, we have a responsibilty to take car of the temple of Jesus, in all aspects. Not ot pollute it in any way, be it with drugs, drinking, and even over eatig and lack of care of our bodies. It is a sin that everyone is guilty of. That is why we are all sinners. Because we sin and aren't aware that we are sinning. That is why we are to study, and read the bible every day. To find oursleves apporved unto the word of God.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

How is someone supposed to know what is a sin and what isn't if they dont' study the word of God?

Yes I believe God gave our bodies to take care of it. I use to be over weight, and I prayed to God to give me the strength to lose weight; now I lost 80 pounds. I eat right, and exercise, and it's all because of God; and that's the honest God truth.

I look at it this way:

If one of my daughters, when they get older, started making decisions that were unhealthy for them (overeating, drinking too much, etc.), I would be deeply disappointed and would worry about them. I would wonder why, with all the wonderful things in the world, they are choosing to act in a way that is so bad for them?

I think God (our Father) reacts in a similar way. He is not salivating over the chance to punish us; He yearns for us to make decisions that will enable us to enjoy life and find peace.

No, it is disrespecting yourself. There is no boogeyman in the sky who cares about what you eat. You have to figure out how you want to live your life and how you view your own body. If you are unhappy with how your body looks, excercising and eating right can help a lot. However, it is your own body.

I think people drop dead from being overstressed. High Blood Pressure is the #1 killer. And I see a lot of younger people dying that are not fat. Maybe people should open their eyes to that fact.
