Say you had sex with someone you were dating, for the first time. Naturally, the next day the woman expects some sort of reassurance in the form of a call or email. By what time the next day should the man call before he gets cursed out for being insensitive?

I prefer to wait a day and then call... that way it builds the anticipation and the women really gets a little nervy...
Her's what I would do, wait for a full 24-36 hours, and then call... wether she picks up or not, just say u wanted to just catch her and see how she was... that u have been caught up in work ever since you left her, but you enjoyed your time with her... (don't make any plans or anything and just end the call nicely...)
If you wanna see her, call her back a day or so after that and then ask her out for coffee or a drink and take it from there...
You need to keep her guessing and not play by her rules... that is, Not call when she's expecting it, but call when she isn't...

I don't think you should even get close to cursing until the day after.... the day after. First of all this is the 21st century so you can pick up the phone just to say hi. And don't get all into talking about the sex stuff and all. it will make you look cheap to do so so soon. As far as when a guy should call........ if he's smart he's going to call by late afternoon. Even if he is busy he could just say that he was thinking of you". And call later that evening and talk. Personally I'd call a lot earlier than that and maybe just go out later.I think a lot of guys are not smart and don't realize the importance of following up.

Why would he have to call you? You call him. Call the next day, in the evening sometime, and say "Yesterday was wonderful...thank you." And see what his reaction is. If he says "You're welcome," and he sounds genuine, then you're good. But if he brushes it off like it was nothing, like it was just another roll in the hay...kick that loser to the curb!
