Why do women talk so much???

Is it because they actually think they have something to say or is it because they like the sound of thier own voice??? Seriously wondering.

I understand that some men talk like little schoolgirls, usually they're feminine little things, but most men don't feel the need to just flap thier gums just for the sake of doing it. That is what it seems like most women do, nothing gets accomplished except running circles around the issue at hand.

And to the women who say that men don't listen so they have to keep harping on it, doesn't do any good. After a while you start sounding like Charlie Brown's teacher. WAH, WAH,WAH. And it's not that we can't hold a train of thought, it's that there are usually other things that are more interesting going on around us, so priorities take over.

I think it has something to do with the fact they have strong emotions. Notice when they talk about there day or tell a story they seem to show emotions. Maybe because there so much about getting attention they feel they have to talk. I'm not really sure I guess they have to ask that. I do think it has something to do with their emotions

Why do we talk so much? Hmmm, let me think about that...I'm not really sure. It could be because we want to drive you all crazy or we have something to say or we like our own voices and seriously, why wonder? Who cares if we like to talk? We are social butterflies and we always have something to say. I like coming here because it's really cool and you get to answer so many questions and actually help people out who have problems and it's so nice to feel like you are doing a service for so many people. I've only been answering questions for probably a week and it's just so much fun. I do this to kill some time and I have a lot of time to kill so why not come here and chat my head off and answer questions until I can no longer anwer them anymore. Today is going to be such a good day and I think I will go do some shopping and call a few friends and maybe have lunch with them too. Oh, it's so hot over here in the lovely state of Texas and we are going to reach triple digits today. I'm so glad that the Fall is just around the corner. But, you know, we don't really have Fall here because it's still so hot. Did I mention that it's going to be in triple digits today? Oh, yes...I did..LOL Oh, and I think I'm going to go and get my nails done too while I'm out and about. Oh, today is just going to be such a lovely day and then I can come back on here later on tonight and drive more people crazy with all the chatting I'm doing right now. Yes, I guess I consider this chatting or is it simply just writing? Who knows and who cares right? Because we are all in this together enjoying each others company. Oh, I forgot I'm supposed to pick up my clothes from the cleaners too. I'm so glad you asked this question because it reminded me of lots of things I have to do today. Wait!! Was I supposed to do it tomorrow or today?? Oh, it doesn't matter, as long as it gets done.

Not sure why we talk so much, I'm sorry, was I virtually talking too much for ya? LOL Hee hee

Women tend to think alot sometimes & aloud sometimes. Due to their multi-tasking nature as gatherers & family protectors in pre-historic times. Because they need to protect the young & bond with other women in the caves for protection against predators & enemies while the men are out hunting. They verbally express their thoughts, opinions, views & feelings. And it's form of bonding, expression & stress relief.

Men are single-minded. They focus on one thing at a time. Due to their hunting nature, they have to target & focus. When women talk too much & too detailed, men get overwhelmed & lost, not knowing what to listen & what to say. They couldn't focus. They only hear key words & lost the whole meaning, especially when women like to elaborate every little single detail.

Especially when women talk about problems, they do not necessary expect soultions. But men get stressed up, thinking they have to find / suggest solutions to them, which is not required at all.

Men like to think silently. Or they do not think at all if there's no solutions as yet. After work, they tend to retreat to a quiet corner to relax, putting aside the work problems. E.g. tv watching, newspaper reading, pc surfing, magazine reading etc. It's like fire-gazing in pre-historic times. Once, he has fire-gazed, he's out & about, with his batteries recharged, regaining his power & strength.

There's good news. Men can still listen to what women have to say. The best time is right after the man had fire-gazed.
He's all ready to listen to her & validate her thoughts & feelings. And women do not need to say every little detail unless the information is required by the men.

Our brains are bilateralized for language. In general terms, our brains are wired to express emotions through language. Mens brains are more wired for action, such as heavy lifting, or hunting. Things like that. But since women mostly take care of children, our brains have always been wired to speak/communicate. Hope this helps.

well don't tell me u haven't liked the sound of some woman's voice? oh yeah and if women didn't speak so much there'd be no talking in the world, and then guess what guys would do more horrible and senseless things, coz they didn't get the great advise women give!

women talk so much is because that is how we are made. unlike guys we like a lot of details and because you don't it seems like we talk a lot. if im in a group of girls talking we could tak for hours but sitting with guys a convo. could be over in 20 min.
a lot of times we think thta you'd actually be listening im not like a lot of chiks if you tell me to shut up i'll do it with out taking any offense to anything cuz i kno that i do talk a lot.

Guess it depends on the girl. Some just like to hear themselves. But others who have a life definately have something to say and aren't afraid to say it. My guess is you are intimated by these types....get over it.

I actually find that a lot of men talk too much...it's rather annoying when the conversation is so one-sided and they talk about themselves but don't ask anything about me.

nothing of the sort, just because guys can't entertain a proper conversation and we r forced to talk much so as to ask u questions so as u would be able to just asnswer so as we could figure out wats so wrong with ya guys!!!
