What your doctor is going on is the standard BMI index (body mass index) at 154 lbs you would be at 24.9 bmi which is the high end of "normal" This is however just a guide as far as I'm concerned because height and weight never seems to account for body style. I would say forget the scale and perhaps consult a nutrition expert that can get you eating healthy and also start (if you are not already) a regular exercise routine. with those two things in tact your body will gradually and naturally get to the weight that is best for you! (I'm somewhat of a rebel when it comes to their silly standards!) My best wishes to you...hope that helps!

yes 234lbs is obese for your height, but it is also up to you to decide to lose the weight or not. If you are happy with yourself and you feel good then I say don't do it. But, if you are at a health risk then you should lose weight. Losing weight is not as hard as you think walking or jogging 4 times a week for 30 minutes and eating alot of vegetables is all you really need to do if you want to do it.

Listen work out, and u will get to a comfortable place not by being a specific weight, but by having a excellent body fat percentage, good BMI(body mass index). U will lose weight, but u may not get down to 150 because u may develop muscle which weighs more than fat and u will look awesome. So go by how u feel and how ur clothes fit. If u dont believe me ask ur doctor

You are overweight, you don't say how old you are, but you should weigh at least 60 pounds less, no matter whether you're muscular or not. My daughter is 5"6 and weights 169 pounds and she is overweight. She even looks overweight. Your doctor wants you healthy and if you're young you can lose it faster.
By the time you hit 40-45, losing weight is much harder, when we age our metabolism slows down.

HI! you should take into consideration that the doctor must have seen the fact that you are a muscular person when he diagnosed you with obesity and told you to lose all the weight.

I recommend you go to a certified nutriocionist (or is it nutriologist?) and comment your problem/situation and also, very important, the point of view you just expressed here.

I hope everything goes ok with you :) keep us posted :P

You do what you are comfortable with. Being overweight can be so harmful to your health. So I say meet the doc in the middle and see how you look and feel. Loose about 40 pounds and see what you think. But remember doc know best:) Being too thin can be bad to so ask your doctor about loosing half the weight.

Eat only fresh fruit in the mornings as for breakfast, the fruits is what helps clean our bodies, you can drink juice if you want but only fresh home made juice ( Not from a can or bottle) Around lunch time you'll want to eat above ground veggies like corn, peas and green beans. Those kind of veggies. These are what gives us energy during the day. Please nothing from a can. They won't do u any good at all.
Supper time you'll want to eat those veggies grown below ground like carrots and potatos. Here's the catch The only thing you can cook is the potatos and I would suggest slowly baking those, Everything needs to be eaten raw. The heat in cooking kills the things we need to make us healthy. Nothing processed at all is allowed you'll be defeting the purpose. only clean water to drink ( no tap water , thats some nasty stuff ) no coffee no tea no beer or whiskey no soft drink of any kind.. Abosolutley nothing that is processed and at your best don't cook any of it. at least if you have to cook it cook at extreamly low heat and not for any lenght of time. Oh you can have peanuts almonds ectt... raw no salt sorry no salt or butter to any foods either.
Your trying to remove the toxins and you will lose wieght. when the body rids itself of all the toxins you should gain a little back to where you are suppose to be.
I hope this helps and keep me posted.

No you're not fat...yet. Now is the time (for a cliche) to make some lifestyle decisions. Maybe just to see, cut out a couple of the worst things from your diet (soda, maybe?) and start a modest workout program, emphasis on cardio. You look okay now it's ten years from now that your doctor is probably worried about.

See the link below. It may be your thyroid function that is preventing you from losing the weight that you need to. Ask your doctor for a thyroid screening test at your next visit. It is a simple blood test taken at the same time as a cholesterol test. The thyroid affects one's metabolism; thus, you could be suffering from what is known as hypothyroidism. There is a treatment...synthetic thyroid (synthroid (tm)).

You should probably consider the health aspect of you being overweight.. don't dwell on it, and don't let it make you feel fat... it also sounds like you have inherited a thick bone structure.. What I would try out is doing more cardio work outs, and maybe when you go eat fast food, take a salad instead of fries.. help you get in a little more in shape..
