No because then I would then have to spend the entire day doing since it seems like there are a lot of unsanitary public restroom users. Personally I hate to use public restrooms and avoid them as much as possible And if you see one of your customers or clients do leave without washing their hands, then how would you react? It's very gross but it's a good idea to keep some antibacterial around and remember that at least now you know how truly revolting that person's personal hygiene is. It's gross for a man or a woman to do this because (unless they have a secret supply of anti-bacterial, ha ha), of course, their hands are contaminated, no matter what excuse they use.

Yes! What I have done is asked a girl if she needs help reaching the soap if she and her mother are both ready to leave a public restroom, the mother usually gives me a funny look but then she and her daughter both will then wash their hands until I leave the room. It's quite funny how people care about hygiene when others notice their bad habits!
I think it should be mandatory for everybody to wash their hands especially after using the bathroom. I think public places should install a device so that you can't leave the restroom until a machine scans your hands for germs before the door opens!
Sorry I'm a bit of a germ phobic I guess! LOL

Of course I don't. That would be rude, criticizing someone else directly. After all, you asked this in the etiquette section, not the public health section.

I also lead by example by making it a point to wash my hands loudly and emphatically.

if they don't get the point, then I agree it's fine to hold onto the hand towel to open the door.

I don't say anything, but I give them a disgusted look. That is really gross, but sadly a lot of people don't wash their hands afterwards!

I may not speak but I definitely will not shake hands or eat food they've prepared ever again.

That is extremely nasty. It's one thing if we are living in a post WWIII, nuclear fallout nightmare. I can understand getting a little lax on hygene. But there is no excuse otherwise.

I will if we are at restaurant or a place where food is being served. Also in airport terminals. you know those nasty people are getting ready to go sit next to someone on a plane for the next few hours.

i'm a bit of a germ-o-phobe anyway. I dont touch escelator handrails and I dont touch bathroom doorknobs.

Yes, if they are with me. Not a stranger unless they are an employee at some restaurant. I would point it out in a joking way to minimize the chance she would be offended. If I do not tell her, I risk her touching me later with her unwashed hands. I agree very disgusting.

Depends on their function afterwards. If they are dealing with something for me then yes, of course I speak up. Otherwise I don't care.

I would never confront a stranger in public for practicing poor hygiene. There are too many people in this world who aren't quite right in the brainpan.

Yes. Just point to the sink and say "um,you forgot to wash your hands" And then stare at them.It will make the person feel akward and they will go and do it.
