Some People on here are such @ssholes. They want to tell you not to adopt and don't even particpate in any programs that help children. I am in a different situation. I am with a partner of 14 years, Have two homes both degreed and professional but because of the state we are in we cannot adopt either. It would upset the other mommies to see two daddies with a child. So I totally understand. It is really unfortunate because I have so much to give to a child that I didn't have growing up in a gay hating home with both mom an dad who never particpated in my upbringing. People think because you don't fit the cookie cutter type that somehow you aren't fit. Well let me tell you this. That is bullshit!

That is so unfair! You should go to the town hall and ask them why they are biased against single people raising children and maybe start a petition. If you can't adopt you could always carry the child with a sperm donor but if you couldn't do that you could always get a surrogate and pretend you were pregnant. I read a story about that once.

I was raised by a single mom, she was great and tried her best to be both a mother and a father, but she could never be both and neither can you. Talk to adults who were raised by a single parent and I think you'll find that they longed for two parents. There is a reason it takes both a man and a woman to create a child. Just because we can raise a child as a single parent don't mean we should.

Are you sure its not because of your age? Its illegal to say someone can't adopt because they are single. In soe states you have to wait until you are 25 to adopt if you are single.

I believe children need two parents... a mother and a father for MANY reasons. The law must believe that too or else they wouldn't have made the law. Get married and then adopt or join "Big Sisters, Little Sisters". Volunteer to help kids.

If you were a famous actress you could adopt as a single parent. But unfortunately for you you are an old maid so start collecting your cats now. I am sure a dozen or so cats will fill that empty void, loser.

Singles shouldn't adopt, because day care is very damaging to children.

Have you ruled out moving? Or being a volunteer to a foster mother or parent? How about the Big Sister program? See your county social work agencies.
