Oh goodness! All foods contain a measure of carbs the only ones that do not are meat. There are some foods that are just worthless with nothing but carbs. Such as white bread! That stuff is like glue and does nothing but give you a fat belly.

GI (glycemic index) basically means how much sugar something has that will affect your pancreas. So if something is high sugar and high carbs that is a "BAD" combination. For example a big ole fat deep fried donut!

Get some books on the subject at the library and read and learn.

Listen dont be confused and cut off carbs completely, yes carbs include starchy white breads, sugars, etc, etc, but carbs also consist of fruits and veggies, whole grains, etc that have the iron and nutrients ur body needs, these are called Complex Carbs(look it up), complex carbs are foods u wanna eat because they will improve ur overall health. Eat whole grain/wheat pasta instead of the regular kind, eat whole grain bread instead of the white kind. I know people who have done the atkins, and yeah they lost weight, but not for long. Lose it the right way!

All vegtables and fruits are carbs, good carbs. Bad carbs are any thing sweetened with sugar.(cake candy ,sodas, also alchol is full of carbs.GI is glycemic index. It is a system that rates how quickly certain foods inrease blood sugar levels.I recomend you read the book Fat Burning Nutrition by Joyce & Gene Daost. It is very simple to understand. I am a personal trainer, I recomend it to my clients. Good Luck ! shelleylynn's fitness.

Hi Bella,

Go to http://www.glycemicindex.com/ for a great explanation. Also, it may be worthwhile to get a glucose meter to monitor things as you learn which carbs make you fat. Here is a good page of information on glucose meters and how to get one free:

I hope this helps you.
