because cat food is sold to humans who would go "ick". I'm not buying Fluffy this! Even if Fluffy might like it. I have no idea if Lucy C. Tabby (current cat in residence) has even tasted a mouse. I know she likes spiders. I never expect to see "Spider Treat cat food" at PetSmart.
To sell a cat food as "complete and balanced for all stages of a cats life" a manufacturer has to make sure that it contaiins certain nutrients and vitamins. Chicken and fish are already familiar things. I have no idea what they would have to do to mouse meat to make sure that kitty is getting all the nutriants she needs. It's just not worth it.
Anyway where would they get the mice? Plenty of people are raising chicken and beef and plenty of people are catching fish and even raising fish on "farms" in big human-made lagoons? Ever seen a mouse ranch?

Hmm, well it's been quite some time since I read it, but I do believe that they tried that. I think I saw it on tv, they said that cat's really didn't like 'mouse' flavored foods. I could be wrong -shrug- I think that's it.

Becasue it's all about the chase. If you make cat food that moves like a mouse then you're really on to something.

its probably because there's not alot of meat on a mouse and it would take ages and many mice to create one of those meaty chunks! i suppose they could uses mouse flavoring but since cats also seem to enjoy larger animals it probably easyer! what does mouse taste like anyway? its probably like chicken so there's not much point. as long as its not mole or vole flavored cos my cats really hate the taste of moles and voles which rhymes is this a coincidence!!!

Because cats don't eat mice, they just kill tem, that is why there are not "terrorists fast food places" because we don't want to eat them we just want to kill them!! lol
On the tother hand that is why you see almost every cat toy ever made has been a mouse.

Because they have human test tasters and no one is going to admit to knowing how a mouse tastes! Actually, I have no idea. That's a good idea.

Yes cats do eat mice for the person above me. I think because mice carry diseases. It would be a good thing to try and patent if you wanted to try farming them :s

Because cats don't actually EAT the mice, they torture it and then leave it on your doorstep, the evil little serial killers.
Can you imagine them doing this with their food? What a mess! Oh wait, most cat owners are used to mess.
