He said the car was at a "Yahoo Shipping Center" Does this center exist? How do I verify that this is a valid offer to sell and that I will not be ripped off? The ad dissappeared from the yahoo listings that afternoon, so I don't have a lot of details. I have the name and e-mail of the owner. He also is selling this car at a GREATLY reduced price for a reason he will not disclose. I am suspicious. Please advise. Thanks

Ask him to send you a photocopy of the front of his military ID card! The SSN is on the back so there is no security breach and it will at least prove he is in the military. The best thing about that is that you can contact, with proof, his chain of command and if you do get screwed... you can have his wages garnished to pay you back.

I would also ask for ALL contact info for the storage facility because you want to see it before you buy it!

And for Christs sake... make sure you get the title of the car when you buy it and MAKE SURE the VIN number is the same on the car and title

If it's not a scam, then he will tell you where to go and find the car, who to pay in cash, in person, and will have a title for the car as well. Do not make any transactions over the internet.
