Getting ripped is about you doing what it takes, not reading books by someone trying to make money. You have to lower your bodyfat to single digits (4-7% range) in order to get ripped. That means counting calories, low-fat meals, high protein meals, small meals throughout the day, cardiovascular exercise as well as hitting the weights. It is a matter of setting goals and the steps to achieve those goals.. Then writing down the goals and following through... If you want to do it, you can.... I will say it is hard to lose fat and build muscle at the same time. Lose bodyfat, then work on bulking up.. If you did lose a pound or two of fat every week, then you probably would be close to ripped. I don't know overall fitness level now, or your current bodyfat percentage. But losing 24 lbs of fat in 12 weeks is realistic and healthy if you do it right.

You dont need a book and a book should sell it self on its credibility and content, not images. You say you have great genetics for building muscle but want to get ripped. You first must build muscle as getting ripped is just losing fat around the muscle so you can see the muscles more defined and clearly.
Pick up copies of popular lifting magazines; get old/back copies from a library, they are always full of decent workout routines. Pick and put together something that works for you and ask people to critic it. Increase your protein intake, you want about 1g per pound body weight. And lift hard atleast 5 days a week. When you build a decent foundation of muscle (with some obvious fat) then incorporate some cardio, but do not do long slow runs. Anything else is fine. Then when you are ready to get ripped, up your reps in your workout, decrease the weight, increase your cardio and limit your junk food.

The fact of the matter is that these books have pictures of people that they pay to represent them.Most of these books and magazines are complete nonsense like many of the weight loss supplements on the market.If they put pictures of these people on their covers it helps them make more money because people buy it seeing an image of what they want to be.Even magazines like Muscle and Fitness do this same nonsense.They contain articles based on the diets and workouts of guys who spend 30-60 thousand dollars a year on illegal performance enhancing drugs.One of the best places to gather this type of information is at a good gym from people who've gotten results.Try the reference section in your local library and seek books that are written by notable strength coaches and alike.Then you can research the terms that you find in those books if you don't understand them.This is the long road but you can avoid misinformation this way.Muscle and fitness is a pretty good magazine but you have to make sure that the article that you're reading cites clinical reference.Anything else is just an opinion most likely aimed at making you buy a specific product.It take a very long time to see real results and all the factors must be in place:diet,proper training,rest,goals,hard work and a complete understanding of how your lifestyle influences your goals.The guy above me has some very good points
