i dont think its right to pierce a babys ears. appart from anything else i think it looks tacky also surely it creates a choking hazzard babies are notorious for putting things in thier mouths. the only advantage is they would never remember the pain of getting them done. since however you have to be 16 usually to get a peirceing surely it is wrong for a baby to have holes made in them! i dont think its child abuse but i dont think its a very nice or pratical idea.

I used to artwork at a piercing place and that i could no longer have confidence what proportion women persons would usher of their newborns to get their ears pierced. It broke my heart each and every time I had to do it as a results of fact the screams you will hear from the toddlers have been unreal. It took 3 human beings to do it... one to hold the pinnacle nevertheless (so as that they do no longer jerk and finally end up with an earring of their face or neck) and 2 human beings to jab piercing weapons of their ears concurrently. It heavily felt like some strange twisted torture. many of the time, the toddlers ears have been given so contaminated they had to take the jewelry out and get it accomplished a 2nd time, for this reason prolonging the soreness. I asked a team of mothers who got here in why they had to get their toddler's ears pierced, and the user-friendly consensus I have been given became into "So human beings can tell she's a woman." I haven't any concept why human beings would inflict extreme soreness on a toddler in order that for you to tell it became right into a woman. Ugh... human beings suck.

IT IS NOT CHILD ABUSE!!!! Check with their pediatrician first, I think they need a couple of hep shots before any piercings. It hurts more as they get older. Both my girls have two piercing each. They both got their first after the OK from the Dr. (about 4 mo). My oldest got the second when she was 1yrs old and said it hurt more (she cried a whole hell of alto more also). So my second daughter got her 2nd piercing at 5mo.

It's certainly not child abuse, but I don't think it's appropriate. If for no other reason than because children play hard, toddlers are clumsy, and it's all too common to rip out an ear lobe. Better to wait until the middle of elementary school or jr. high.

It's not a bad thing, but it looks REALLY tacky. If people can't tell that it's a girl, dress the baby in pink! Let the child make their own decision about earrings when they're older.

I don't think it is child abuse. Mine were pierced at 4 months. They don't remember the pain and it is fairly quick to heal

I wouldnt go as far as saying its child abuse, but personally I think its best to wait till the child is old enough to ask for it and then the responsibility for looking after them and making sure they dont get infected etc is shared between the child and its parent.
