Ah, the tired cliche, but isn't it a bit insulting that you just want us guys to be walking punchlines so you can have a giggle? Or is it so that we can laugh off infedility?
I mean a guy could be the most attentive, caring affectionate, handsome guy out that, but does he still fall down if his only joke is one about a chicken crossing the road?

A great sense of humor is more than just a joke....it's being able to not take things so seriously when there are more important things to worry about sometimes...
It's about being able laugh at yourself as well as you laugh at others.
Although I love a great sense of humor...there are far more important things that go into a great relationship,

A man with a Great Sense of Humor does not need to firing off one liners or spewing topical jokes. Having a Great Sense of Humor simply means being free to laugh and not take things overtly seriously. Mostly women want a man who is not gonna backhand her across the room. A man who laughs at THEIR jokes and accepts their authority as to what is funny is what woman often want.
Also - - - it is easy to find jokes if you really think the way to a woman's heart if thru her funny bone. The joke is often nothing - - - it is the tone in your voice, the way you lift an eyebrow, the facial gesture that you make that reflects that you are a person with a GSOH. Peace.

I understand where you're coming from on this one. i think the advert industry for dating has been so long in the running, that its followed the original format as no one has the originailty and use of the english language (or any other language) to come up with something different, perosnally, i find nothing more irritating that someone who goes around saying how 'mad' they are, ha ha my sides are splitting-not.
I'd much rather have the love and affection of an honest man than someone constantly going off into so called humour, when I read GSOH, I always have a mental image of the idiot with red hair from the fast Show

It's always best if you can laugh together as well as all the other things. I think everyone wants someone with a gsoh but it's not the be all and end all.

It not really about telling jokes. It more about not taking things too seriously and also being able to engage with others because he's interested in them. Some guys are just so dull they are think of when there is going to be sex and nothing else.

dude, i'm sorry for whatever girl you were really into that wanted a quality you obviously don't have and totally ticked you off...that is what triggered the question right? i'm sure you have tons of great qualities and that there are MANY girls who want what you have, but if you are too busy chasing the girls that funny guys have you are missing out because that is not necessarily your sphere of influence.find a circle to move in where you are celebrated instead of ridiculed.trust me there is a girl out there who not only loves your best qualities but also WHATEVER sense of humor you have.try finding her in a place you don't normally look. you might be overlooking her because she on the surface lacks some quality that you only find in shallow girls who want funny guys...(and i don't mean just looks...) we girls are not all the same....:)

What are you bleating on about? A good sense of humour doesn't necessarily mean a stand up comic for god sake... if we wanted that, then Bernard Manning would be getting a lot more sugar in his bowel!
It means, knob-rot, that you detect the slightest ability to not take yourself too seriously, be able to laugh at yourself.
I would be more concerned about your intelligence levels though!

Every1s sense of humour is different & a girl wnts a bloke who can make HER laugh so it doe mata wot jokes he's tellin as long as u can laugh at stuff 2getha. Like 4 example im realli clumsy bt can always laugh at myself & if i meet a bloke id want 1 who cud laugh at himself wen he does stupid stuff as well as not take me fallin dwn the stairs in the wetherspoons an embarrasment bt insted laughs it off wiv me & helps me up!!!!
