A good doctor has to have a desire, a lot of brains, a lot of ambition and I think a desire to help people. If he/she goes into it for the money alone, I don't think it would make them as good as a desire for the occupation. Are they happy--probably as much as with any job. Every job has it's bad spots.

Well probably , the main reason is the kind of respect people give you. Frankly speaking ( there are exceptions so dont bother), doctors are second to god. They cure you with deseases today we never thought possible years back, they save our lives while they themselves are at high stress levels. so go ahead if you wana be one. Best of luck buddy.

A good general practitioner (doctor) has above average mediation skills and can use his or her vast knowledge bank to match symptoms with a diagnosis. You have to have good recall and recognition to help patients. People are comforted by your knowledge of medicine not your optimism.
