I would suggest letting this situation have a bit of a cooling off period. Just leave it alone for now and see what else is out there, it could be quite ugly to get between best friends!

Pick one,tell the other that you've been out with her and her friend, and I'm going to stick with this one so we can't go out anymore. By the way do they know that you've been dating them both? You may lose them both if you start lying now.

Well you should of never hooked up with her best friend in the first place, but since you have stay with her best friend. don't go back to your ex. she could be doing it out of spite since your with her best friend. she could be trying to start trouble. never know. but please don't let it come to violence.
