GRILLED LEMON PRAWNS

1 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon dried oregano, crumbled
1 tablespoon dried thyme, crumbled
2 teaspoons freshly grated lemon zest
2 teaspoons coarse salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
24 prawns or jumbo shrimp
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
lemon wedges as an accompaniment

In a large bowl stir together the oil, the herbs, the zest, the salt, and the pepper, add the prawns, and toss them to coat them well.
Let the prawns marinate, covered and chilled, for at least 1 hour or overnight. Stir in the lemon juice, let the mixture stand at room temperature for 30 minutes, and drain the prawns in a fine sieve.

Grill the herb-coated prawns on a rack set about 4 inches over glowing coals for 3 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through. (Alternatively, the prawns may be broiled on the rack of a broiler pan under a preheated broiler about 4 inches from the heat for 4 minutes on each side.) Divide the prawns among 8 plates and serve them with the lemon wedges.

Serves 8.

Why does being only 17 go with a haha? Are you serious in this question? I would suggest getting some nuts. Cashews are really sweet, and are great blended with vegetables to make a really quick soup. Add some cut up sweet red bell peppers in it for some texture. Walnuts put through the food processor makes a great pizza "crust" and then you can put chopped up vegetables on top of it. Almonds are a good standby for raw foodist (of course these all have to be soaked overnight for a pure raw foodist point of view). Raw Tahini (sesame seeds grounded up) is in the refrigerator section in some grocery stores now) and that is also good to have on hand for dressings for salads. It is also high in calcium. Then I would just cut up fruit and put it in a bowl. Sprinkle some nuts over the top for a little more texture. Just some ideas. Check out some raw food websites. They have alot more recipes to try out.

Soak shishkabob skewers in water at least 30 minutes. Thread shrimp on skewers, so that 2 skewers are parallel, holding the shrimp in a nice, neat row. This allows them to be flipped easily w/o losing any of them int he grill!

Marinate in a little garlic, lime or lemon juice, S&P and evoo. Grill on high. WHen they are pink, they are done, about 3-4 min of each side if in their shells, about 2 min. if peeled.
