Marc B is right on with my gut feeling on this.
But after further reflection, I'd have to say the best Bible inspired SFX would be the various bombs of religious zeolots all over the world (Belfast 1970-late 1990s; various abortion clinics, usually in the U.S. south etc. etc)
Unfortunately, Christianity got trumped on the planes-into-buildings and strapping explovises on yourself aboard a schoolbus ideas.

The parable of the prodigal son. This is my favorite because if you actually read what it says it blows the whole idea of a judgmental punishing god right out of the water.
It is of course always misinterpreted before it is used to hide its true meaning, but if you actually read it with an open mind it says something very different from the usual forgiveness message that it is misinterpreted as being.
This was first brought to my attention while reading a somewhat obscure text called the course in miracles. Sure enough when I actually read it for the first time with the true context in mind it was beyond obvious what it was actually saying.
Love and blessings

Its a tie, the one where noah gets six billion species of animals on a boat, equally distributes them throughout the world, or the one where someones wife is turned to a pillar of salt because she looked back at something she wasn't supposed to see.

It's not in the bible, but in the Koran Moses has a "wizard off" against the wizards of the pharoh, like Lord of the Rings!!!

I always thought the "turned to salt" thing was pretty interesting and morbid at the same time.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. That whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
To save all of us.
