Reading through everyone's answer's just made me realize that Canada is the best country to live in! Just read what everyone has to say about individual cities - I want to get on a plane and head out to west and east (well I've been wanting to for some time now.)
Well, I think both cities are great place to visit. I live in/around Toronto so I'm pretty familiar with it. I don't know...It's a toss up between Toronto and Vancouver for me. Vancouver has some really nice architecture, as does Toronto.

Out of those three I would choose Vancouver. I live in the Toronto area so I wouldn't visit there and Calgary seems interesting enough but I would love to see the Pacific Ocean so Vancouver would be a nice choice for me.

Been to Toronto and Vancouver (planning on Calgary next year) but a thousand times over I would say Vancouver. Nothing more awe-inspiring than seeing the Rockies on one side of you and the ocean on the other. Friendly people and amazing scenery!

Depends what you're into I guess, I haven't quite made it as far as Vancouver, but others I know have, and say it's beautiful. You're close to the Rockies which is near there in British Columbia and darn I forget about any for Calgary but it's known for the Calgary Stampede. I did enjoy Calgary though but haven't been for a long time. Toronto, is not my cup of tea, and way too much violence for me to chance going back. Hope that helps some and thanks for asking.

Unless you want to a) spend all you time in the humid and polluted East with a bunch of people trying their hardest to be like Americans OR b) hang around with a bunch of pot-heads complaining about how long their 5 hour work day is - may we suggest Calgary. Our weather is great, or beer is ice-cold, our sports community is super, we have mountains, lakes, prairies, and forests within 30 minutes (max.) in any direction.
Our people are crazy friendly, our girls are pretty, and we LOVE guests!
(Now - I was taking a shot at B.C. and Ont. - that's what we do here! All in good fun kids, take it easy!
Happy Travels! Welcome to Calgary! =)

I've only ever been to Toronto myself, but if those are your only choices, I'd go for Vancouver.

Neither .... consider Atlantic Canada .... St. John's, Newfoundland is the oldest city in North America and has much to offer ... boat tours, whale watching, rugged coastline, cultural events, Signal Hill, Cape Spear, dinner theaters, pubs and bars, fluvarium, geocentre, museum, art galleries, over 75 miles of scenic walking trails, etc.

I would have to say out of the 3 you've named...Vancouver!..It's beautiful there...especially in the summer...flowers everywhere...the ocean...just amazing....although someone said Victoria...they are right...if you put that city in there, it would win hands down!
