I would be more concerned about the man. Men DO NOT keep long term platonic friendships for any other reason than they "might" have a chance to get some action! Sorry but all men are dogs (I am one so I know)...the woman may only be meeting an emotional need, and the man is always waiting and willing to fulfill EVERY need she might have (which can escalate into sex, at least he hopes). I chose my wife because I know she has no unfinished business with any "old flames"...if she wants to say hi to an old guy friend, that's cool with me because she doesn't go visiting him without me and vice versa! I'd have serious 2nd thoughts about the co-dependancy of this man and woman...

For some reason, most of today's younger generation does not believe there is such a thing as a platonic relationship. Sexual intercourse seems to be the driving force.
I do believe that a woman can have a platonic relationship, whether he is married or not. In fact, she can have several "platonic" relationships in which she feels that these men are good friends, special friends, and that's where the line is drawn.
I have several myself. One in particular, he is a very close friend. I have known him for many years. In our younger years he would come over, bring the pizza, and he would fall asleep on the couch and I would lay asleep on the floor next to the couch while we were both trying to watch TV. Nothing more. He was and is like the brother I never had. Platonic? Definitely.

Yes I would because I have a long term married male friend for over 10 years now and we have never, ever, NEVER, EVER crossed the line or even come close.
