Klo-Mann:
I have no ideas but I've just called a friend called Jacky Dan. The most romantic thing he has done for his present girlfriend was singing for her. He said it won her hesitating heart albeit his poor singing. And he had always been kind to her. She liked that.
Addendum 1
Dan's song, a short love song, was a very common song in his social circle. Some of his friends (not me! I don't IM) used some of the lyrics as part of their IM nicknames.
Addendum 2
I nearly forgot this:
It was his girlfriend who suggested the singing. He said his singing was so poor that she would throw up her breakfast. However, he sang... and she thought it was the most wonderful song she had ever heard, although it was a common song, although it was sung by a bad singer, the singer was her deeply loved boyfriend.

Left notes at home for my partner for when she got home from work. From the front door telling her to remove her shoes, up the stairs telling her to remove her clothes and into the bathroom where there was a steaming hot bath in a candle lit room with a glass of wine.
While she relaxed I cooked a meal which we ate to candle lights and romantic music. I made sure she did nothing that evening and followed up by a relaxing massage.

there are many gestures, but i find being alone with the one i love just talking and listening.
Don't be serious, just little snip-bits of nothings between kisses.
In the park, on the cliffs at Dover, at night on Westminster bridge or perhaps at home on your bed. Just be close and loving, sex is a different matter, just don't rush at it and enjoy the moment.

My gf and I were celebrating her birthday, and she had her heart set on a specific posh restaurant. She made the booking, but I phoned up later and asked them to have a bottle of their finest champagne ready for us. I then asked them to phone her back, pretending to have made a booking mistake. I then made 'another booking elsewhere'. I arranged for a limosine to pick us up from home, and pick us up at the end of the evening, with a huge bunch of red roses, also with another bottle of champange for the return journey, saying to her only my mate could pick us up in his van. Needless to say, I nearly ended up single until the limo showed up! Was an amazing night.

Wrote a romantic letter using love hearts...only to find out he was seeing someone else.
I can honestly say I have not been romantic since.
