You cannot eat anything except fries with Maine lobster, If you do you are not a Mainiac. Dip the meat in melted butter and put the tomally on a piece of white bread and you have the greatest meal ever. Take it from a real Mainer.

don't put anything with lobster.
The only thing you eat lobster with is butter sauce, which is basically melted butter.... that is really nice and very common. At a good restaurant they will serve lobster with a little pot of butter sauce. and nothing else.
lobster is meant to be eaten alone.

Recently ate a 2 lb. lobster (caribbean variety) I had it with a butter sauce and lemon. My wife also prepared a Puerto Rican "MOJITO" for dipping, it's made in a mortar and pestle and is a mix of olive oil, garlic, onion, celantro, a little green pepper and couple of grinds of fresh black pepper. The only other thing you need with a nice sized lobster (2 lbs. or more) is a nice white wine, I would suggest a Pinot Grigio.

For side dishes? Corn on the cob, potato salad, garden salad, beans, or coleslaw are some traditional sides you'd get if you were at a New England Lobster dinner

Potato salad, and Keith's beer.
And of course mayo or melted butter.
Keep it simple, just appreciate the delicious lobster!

Chili-lime corn on the cob, biscuits and a salad. The chili lime corn is easy...prepare how you like coat with butter lime juice and a sprinkle of chili powder and roll it through a crumbled Spanish cheese of your choice. Yummy!

Me sitting in front of it with a fork in one hand and a knife in the other. A filet steak and some garlic butter would not hurt either.

Rice pilaf and steamed green beans would go nice. Don't forget the melted butter too.
