Have you flown from the South terminal since the new security measures have been in force? If so, how busy/crowded is the departure lounge? It is usually fairly full, so I can imagine that it is even worse now with all of the delays. I am using the information to aid my decision of whether to pay to use the airport lounge.

My g/f flew on Tuesday, from Gatwick to Palma, she said it was busier but she had no problems whatsoever. However she did not take any hand luggage. I can't say anything about the airport lounge but I'd make sure I was there earlier and with the correct packing.
I believe you are now allowed hand luggage but the less you have the quicker it is for you to get through.

Not yet, no but i gotta soon, well Not so a couple of months yet, so i hope things have calmed down abit by them, i bet it will be quite bad you av to be x-rated and stuff i think.
But i'd rather go through that than be blown up by some demented terrorist.
