Hey guys, i've recently started to exercise and maintain a better diet because i no longer want to be FAT ;). I'm 17yrs old, 6ft1 tall, male and weigh 280lbs. I eat 1500 calories a day, drink 2 litres of water a day whilst doing cardio and weight lifting.

Everyday i do an hour of the exercise bike for 60minutes, on the screen of the bike it says i burn 1200 calories+travel 30miles per hour... but this is only theoretical right?

Anyway i do an hour of the bike everyday and also do 300reps of 2x20lbs dumbells in the evening.

So my question is... am i going about this the right way, how much weight should i lose per week by keeping to this routine.

Thanks

Listen bro if you can keep eating only 1500 calories a day while doing that, I'll be amazed at your willpower. And you will lose weight very quickly this way. Just know that at some point, your body will demand more calories to sustain that kind of workout.

Even at 1500 calories, the kinds of foods you eat are very important. I'd recommend going on a professional diet. Here's a good list of diets in a buyer's guide I use:

I hope this helps you.

As long as you are expending more energy then you are putting in, you will lose fat. 3500 calories= 1 pound of fat.

Sounds like you are doing a good job. Just make sure that you are remaining in your target heart rate on the bike. There should be plenty of websites to calculate that.

Also, because of the weight lifting, you may gain weight at first. Don't get frustrated, it's just that muscle weighs more than fat.

Yes, if you keep that up, you'll loose weight. And while you do this, come up with a strategy that you can live with for the rest of your life, because you probably won't be able to stick to an hour on the bike forever. Develop good eating habits today that will stick with you.

Well you'll lose weight and tone your muscles, losing fat but gaining muscle mass, eventually firming and losing inches. Health wise 2-3lbs per week is what you should be aiming for, but i know that is not what most people want to hear.

Drink lots of water and good luck!
