I started to feel like I fit in with the crowd. As sad as that is, I was in a job where 90% of the people smoked and I felt left out because they were always going out for a cig. break together and I was left sitting alone. They would come back in laughing and talking about something that I had no clue what they were talking about because they had started the conversation 15 minutes ago while they were outside. I finally quit, but feel the same pressures when I am around other people who al have this common bond.

I started when I was ten, for me it wasn't about being cool or tough.. It was more about wanting to be like my mother since my dad left when I was 3 I really looked up to her.. She quit when it got in the way of putting food on the table, cold turkey also.. So for me it was more of wanting to be like my role model.. Been smoking for 28 years now, tried quitting 15 times over the years. I do have much respect for people that can quit cold like that though, I will get there one day.

I started smoking 30 years ago in school because it was the cool thing to do. Now I have been 7 months without one and I still dream about the things. Cigarettes are very addictive and I would not advise smoking to anyone. I have 2 grown children and that is how I knew I was pregnant, I could not smoke, it make me sick to my stomach.(No smoking while pregnant) But when the baby's were born a cigarette was the first thing I wanted.

I started when I was 18. I started because my parents smoked, my younger sister smoked and most of the people I knew smoked. Now that I look back, none of my friends smoked. I guess I was just trying to be grown up. Well I quit 3 years ago after several failed attempts to quit, I just kept trying. I did not feel great after I quit like people tell you that you will, it takes time. Actually, it took over a year for my body to get everything out of my system. But I feel great now and yes I gained some weight but it evened out. Have a happy day!

You'll never get a "relaxing buzz" once you're smoking daily. The first cigarette is always the best one. But you'll never enjoy them like that of you're smoking regularly, It doesn't happen. And you're not going to be the special person who doesn't get addicted. 3 a day is a joke! It ******* sucks. You're sick all the time, and it's expensive.

I was mad at my mom because she wouldn't quit and I said if she is going to do it than I am too. The stupidest decision of my life.
