Hi there...the yellow fluid you are seeing is called bile, which comes from the liver. The vomiting could be caused by multiple symptoms (intestinal parasites, liver, kidney, pancreas, diet changes, etc.) which are very difficult to assess here. It truly should be evaluated by a veterinarian as he could have ingested something that is causing the vomiting.

It could be diet related where he's developed food allergies recently. If there's been any sudden changes in switching in his regular primary food source to a new one this will cause vomiting as cats digestive system is highly senstive especially with senior kitties. Switching the primary food source has to be done very slowly and gradually over a course of a couple of weeks. (e.g. 3/4 old food mixed with 1/4 new food...then 1/2 to 1/2 ...then 3/4 new food to 1/4 food, etc).

It could be simply hairballs EVEN if it's not coming up they could be stuck inside his intestinal tract irritating it to the point of vomiting. This does happen with persian breeds.

By the way...milk is the last thing anyone should give to their cats as it is very hard on the kidneys. A vet can confirm this fact.

Even though everyones answer may be well intentioned here in Yahoo group we shouldn't be diagnosing your cat as we are not medical professionals. Would you please consider at least calling your vet this morning to discuss the symptoms you've described here to see if they feel a medical visit is necessary. They will then ask you questions about the cats habits, diet past medical problems/history, etc. to better help you too.

I think your cat may have hair balls. I feed my cat Purina indoor hair ball remedy. Long haired cats especially have problems with hair balls and they can throw up daily. Is there hair in the throw up. I noticed it was much worse when I fed her canned food so I eliminated it all together. She does much better. She does still throw up on occasion but not nearly as much. Also if they have hair balls, sometimes there will be a clump the size of the esophagus and it actually could look like a turd. If this doesn't sound like what your can has, I highly recommend taking it to the vet.

Even if he is not puking hair balls he could still have a problem with them. If he is 10 years old I would recommend you take him to a vet for a check up. It could be a number of things. Maybe he needs different food now that he is older. I hope he gets better soon.

I just got a cat on Saturday and I learned while researching what to feed her, that cats who aren't fed premium cat food can start vomiting because they aren't getting enough nutrience in their cheap brand food. Avoid cat food with meat by-products in it.

A good brand I read about is Nutro Natural Choice cat food which can be found at pet supply stores. It has a money back guarantee that you cat will like it too. Your cat will eat less because it will get more of the nutrience it needs from the high-quality food.

they meow before throwing up, it can be worm troubles, you need to brush that cat a lot , if this just started then something is wrong, but i had a cat who was injured when i found her and she always had trouble eating and keeping things down. the safest thing is to go to the vet.

maybe it ate something wierd. Give him a spoonful of sugar or some milk so because milk is a base so it destroys acids. If what I said doesn't work, go to a vet

You really should take your cat to the vets for an exam, something is very wrong with this situation.

He might have developed an allergy to his food. My dog had a problem like this and we had to switch him to a lamb and rice formula. Talk to your vet about options.
